Not sure what he's asking for from other owners, but Billy Alvarado's asking me for a four year deal, the first around $16MM, the last at a cool $42MM.

            LOL!

The inflation of salaries is definitely going to make it really interesting going forward.

There are a lot of very good FA's out there who may just price themselves out of a job.
On the flip-side, there's going to be a few teams who bite the bullet and marry themselves to a potentially disastrous contract.

We probably won't know what the landscape will look like until 3-4 seasons down the line.

Yeah, really interested to see the fallout from this after a few seasons. Overall a good thing for the league though.

Hopefully budgets can be adjusted to accommodate a player making 42 million dollars annually- or 40% of a teams allotted cap

Budgets will not be adjusted. Right now players are reaching for the stars. If you choose to pay them that it's on you. Demands will come down.

Combs wanted $25m. I'm offering $19m. It's a lot more realistic than the $5m he's making now. A lot of this is the 3rd Arb rule as he was signed cheap, but the demands going up help too. In the end there won't be a stockpiling of talent and FA should be better. The numbers were messed up for years, this is just fixing an issue.

I must be missing the part where he threatened to run over your dog with his police car for you daring to mention budgetary concerns?

Based on your response, surely he must have said something along those lines in his reply to you.

Yeah, there's no way anyone will make over $30MM per, unless someone does something silly.

I'll be honest, I read this as "collagen" at first glance.
