Not the way I would have liked to have the AAA championship game go. I'm ok with losing, but I'd have preferred for my top pitching prospect not to have torn his UCL in the loss.

2014 must be Malik Roberson's coming out party.

-.346/.374/.928, 157 OPS+, 15 HR (in just 374 AB) including an INSIDE-THE-PARK HOME RUN last week. He's pretty much putting up the same numbers that he did in AAA.

I'm not sure why my scout doesn't think he's very good. Seems like scouts can just be flat out wrong about players in this version.

I think scouting can be somewhat overrated. Does it even matter if you have a scoutt that has a Legendary status? Or putting in money into scouting? Numbers dont lie. Seems the best scout is yourself at times.

I've been making roster decisions almost exclusively on stats since 1994.

It started when I drafted this guy, Pat Marlin (OF), in 1994 in a supplemental draft. He wasn't rated well at all and fell to the supplemental draft round. He was a superstar in college. He didn't go on to be a star, but his 1997 playoff performance was nothing short of amazing and he went on to have a relatively productive 12 year career.

SS Ian Moore started as a D# replacement and starting against LHP, but now will fully take the starting nod as a Miller is cold and is batting worst than the rookie.

Very happy with his performance so far. His other 2 fellas didn´t connected his first hit yet with Franco being blank in 6 AB and Heard in 7 AB... Hopefully they will hit their first ball soon.

Memphis Railcats are your 2014 Horizon League Champions. Its about as useless as tits on a bull but still proud of my AAA squad. More importantly it means I can now call some of these guys up for the last 3 weeks and let them get their feet wet. Hopefully they transition well. Like Mike said, not the way we wanted to win the ship with Kessler going down. Sucks when talented young guys like that get injured.

If BLB Universe LA is anything like our LA, it seems like the perfect location for a player like McPherson.

I had no idea Sonny Marshburn has FIVE DWI's.

                        Not bad at all.

                          Filar at it Again

                          Speaking of coming out parties...

Dusty Filar is continuing his unbelievable Rookie campaign in the heat of a pennant race. Rushed into the majors to fill in for an oft injured Ernie Arbini, he has produced at levels that far outweigh anything the coaching staff could have hoped for.

With his two homer three RBI game yesterday he has bought his season totals to... 25 HR 64 RBI .305 AVG and .925 OPS.

At 22 years old he has belted 7 homers, 15 RBI, and a .352 average in September. Playoffs or not, management is extremely excited about this Californian's future with the Kodiaks!

September 7, 2014, 7:18 PM: Henry Rodriques realizes he is in a contract year.

Also, 2014 3rd round pick Jarrod Rowles went 3 for 4 in his BLB debut.
