Of course. Why wouldn't Falvey tear his rotator cuff in the last week of the AAA season?

Can we start giving an annual "award" to the team most ravaged by injuries?

Maybe call it the Durham-Sau Award?

I want to at least win something this year.

Maybe we can think of other "awards" to give out, too.

It seems that every sim I lose 2 games because of my bullpen.
But when I do get decent pitching I can't score a run.

Feliciano and Yamashita have both been disappointments this season with Feliciano on pace for less than 30HR's.
Yamashita has been much better the last two months, but he was dreadful in June which effectively knocked us out of contention.
He's not even our closer anymore.

Whealtey was a bust, but mercifully he got knocked out for the season, so he'll never wear the Black and Orange again.

Just so frustrating. I thought the team was ready to turn the corner and make a serious run at the playoffs, but it seemed when I needed pitching I got none, and when I needed offense the bats went cold.

A couple of bright spots in Mel Reyes and Baisden's shaping up to be a fine closer.
Jimmy Douglas also seems like he's going to be a top 2B for a long time.

But other than that, it's been a very disappointing season.

Things are looking good in Vegas. 17-10 month, rosters expanding so we can shuffle guys around. JJ Caplan lands in Vegas and hits 3 homers and drives in 5. Tom Wright having a career year is up to #4 on the Top Hitter list and Jamie August just keeps hitting AA bombs as our heir apparent cleanup hitter. Just two interesting games against Cali. I'm interested to see how we handle those ankle biters after pushing our lead back to 13.

The Furry Pigs were the Los Lunas Javelinas, who packed up for Toronto and became the Canadians.

                      I loved that franchise identity.

Guides closer Fred Mattison struck out 31 batters in 16 1/3 innings in August.

                        1.65 ERA, 3 walks.

                        Almost 2 strikeouts an inning!

One of the most insane pitching months I can remember seeing.

A 3-3 week isn't too bad, but it leaves us clinging to a one game lead over Baltimore. Certainly looks like it will go down to the wire in the Stout again this season.

I didn't realize Johnny Lopez qualified as a rookie, but he won August Rookie of the Month in the IL, hitting .406 for the month. He's putting together a good season for us.

On the other hand, Jimmy Razza was awful in August, 8.66 ERA for the month (though he somehow went 2-0). I thought he had a chance to contend for Pale Ale, but certainly not after that month.

Our minor league teams all had solid seasons, and we got good years from our top prospects. 5th round pick Zachary Rhoda has moved into the BA Top 100.
