While he may not be the front runner, or even in the race, I feel I owe it to Dave Monks to make a case for him for MVP. He's having a phenomenal year this year on a team with little success (although we've been playing better as of late). Through August Monks is hitting .297/.355/.516/.871 with 22HRs and 69RBIs. But what fascinates me most about him is that last season we decided to move him from RF to 1B. When we initially changed his position the game gave him a 2 1B rating. He's currently at a 6. Besides being consistently productive at the plate, he's improved his 1B rating 4 points in less than 2 seasons. He's an extremely hard worker, a leader in the clubhouse, and at only 25 he's still getting better. He's definitely been a bright spot in the Wilmington organization this season.

          That is awesome.

          Trade him to Baltimore.
