Not really, they handle us in the meaningless games early in the year and we take care of "bid-ness" when it's winning time

18-8 and tied for the best record in baseball. Unreal, but it is also unsustainable.

We are dead last in the IL in starter ERA (4.73) and we will begin to lose if that isn't addressed.

        Highlights:

-24 year old rookie, Daniel Flores (SP) got his first start this past week. We started him in Syracuse and the rookie put together a respectable 8 IP, 3 ER, 5 K and 2 BB performance. He didn't get the win, but I blame that on our manager because he really should have subbed him in the 7th. We did pull out the win in extra inning though.

-For the 3rd consecutive week, a Bulldog player has won the IL BOWA. This week, it was Dave Sanders (OF). After a sensational, yet unheralded, season in 2013, the former Sooners' standout looks to follow up last year's performance with an even better year in 2014.

-Looks like I'm finally seeing the Masao Nara (1B) that I paid to get. He's a beast defensively at first base and has the ability to make pitchers pay for mistakes, evidenced by his 7 home runs (not easy as a RHB in Phillips Field) so far this season. I think being signed to a longterm deal coupled with batting in front of the league's top hitter, has allowed Nara to finally play to his full potential.

We've got a LONG while to go.

Our starters are so shaky, I really doubt we hold it together for an entire season. Early frontrunners for the award (IMO) are Batavia, DVS, Denver.

I was talking to another GM this morning about something I thought I'd never see.

In a 6-3 win over Syracuse, Jerrod Dapson is intentionally walked so that they could face Chiba. Now that's just plain disrespectful.

He did get the sacrifice fly, but I still feel so bad for Chiba. Once (arguably) the best hitter in the BLB and one bad pitch brought him to this point. To his credit, he has finally resigned the fact that he isn't (and will never be) the same player and has settled in well as a pinch hitter for us this year.

I'm sure that 11M per for the next 4 years makes it easier to swallow (TWSS).

MR Alex Herrera turns 29 years today and after being claimed by Dallas from Baltimore he´s doing a really good job here despite his Flyball Tendency, the veteran didn´t allow a single run this week and only one hit in 5.1 IP combined with 9Ks. We´re teaching him to keep the ball on the field and so far this week he threw 6 GB and only 1 FB, hopefully his tendency will change soon. We´re very happy with this claimed player and as it´s tipically said in SGN "One man thrash could be another man´s treasure"

Alex couldn't stick around because he walked too many people for us.

                  Glad he's found a home.

It's May 5th and Hartford hasn't won a home game yet.

Any predictions as to when the long awaited victory will come?
