    Pawtucket 4-3.

No real ups or downs. Nothing really thrilling. We just seem to be pacing ourselves.

Santana is hitting .448/.590/.741 with 5 home runs, 20 RBI, and 15 walks.

That other shoe is going to hurt.

Continued struggles in Wilmington. Beanpole is pitching pretty well, which was expected. Other than that not much going on. Obviously not going to go from losing over 110 games to being a playoff contender in a single offseason, but we're looking to improve from last year for sure. A lot of young talent, just waiting for them to all gel together.

On another note look for 2013 5th overall pick Tommy Bartholomew to make his transition to AA in the next sim or two. He's pitched extremely well in his first 3 starts in A after sitting out all last season with an injury. Excited to see how he continues to progress.

A 4-2 week for the Bats keeps us a half game up on Baltimore, despite losing the series to them. Not too much to complain about at 13-5, we're doing a bit better than I expected.

In limited AB's (just 28 so far), scrapheap signing Todd Boyce is crushing the ball (.464/.516/.750). I only signed him to get a right-handed bat to play occasionally against lefties, so he's pretty much already given me more value than I expected. Of course, now that I've mentioned it, he'll go back to being the useless player he was before he got here.

I like Boyce. If I didn't have Ingle, he was going to be a target of mine.

13-5 now following a very good week.

I can't say I expected any of this, but I'm sure we will start to come back to earth as soon as Santana does.

                Highlights:

-Our bullpen is lights out. As a group, their collective ERA is 1.77 with a 1.08 WHIP, WHIP. Now watch them Nae-Nae!

-We signed 36 year old, Jimmy Jones (3-time SS Winner) to a near min contract. What I love about this guy is he came aboard with no complaints and even expects a "backup" role. You gotta love a team player like that. Hopefully he can bring a veteran presence and solid late game defense to the corner outfield position.

-We have two guys batting over .400, Abraham Santana (C) as mentioned above and former Snapper (now-Shark), Jimmy Rosema (OF). Now I completely expect Santana to go through a three month dry spell and come back down to earth but with Rosema, I'm not so sure. Coupled with our park, I think Rosema may have a real chance to be the first .400 hitter in our league history. But we're only a month in so he's got a while to go. Stay tuned.

Trivia: Who is the league record holder for batting average in a single season?

Hint: It is not a cheater.

                    I remember this one.

It's former Pawtucket asshole Adam Nickell.

He did it during the one BLB season I was entirely absent.

I remember returning to the league and thinking, "What the fuck—someone almost hit .400 while I was gone?"

Nah. A bit more obscure. I'm not sure you were here yet when this guy was around.

Yep. Since liquid was back, I figured he or Spear would remember.
