Thought about him at 1.2. Just couldn't pass up a guy nicknamed "Trucker"

Lots to like about O'Hearn but I fell in love with Owens' long term potential. O'Hearn looks like he could enter the bigs in a season or two.

I stayed away for a couple reasons. My Scout had four potential categories decreasing (eye, power, contact, K's) in his March 2014 scouting report. The second reason was the continued decrease in his feeder league. Ever since I watched TJ Dunn set records in NCAA, I want to select somebody that is crushing it at their current level.

          Matt or Brad,

Please flip Baltimores and Pawtuckets pick.

Same record in 2013 and tie breaker in 2012 goes to DV. It's pure won loss record if I recall.

          Thanks.

What round? And how does DV come into play?

The game chooses it...not me. It's their tiebreaker system.

              No problem.

Is the 1st rounder from DV which Denver traded to Pawtucket.

                This is my thought too.

My scout has him as 6-6-7-5-5 potential and that speed is awesome so there is no doubt he's the real deal. The question for me would be, where is his ceiling? I'm with Spear where I prefer my guys to be more dominant as amateurs.

And I say all that knowing that my scout thought O'Hearn should have been the #1 pick in the draft.

I think theres a chance that he's "bored" and needs to be challenged, and he'll respond well.

O'Hearn has great potential and I belive his intangibles almost make him a lock to be one of the most dominant hitters we have seen in some time. The guy will be a beast at the plate.

It's hard picking a 1B with the first pick. With that being said, he's going to be one heck of a player.

My scout has 5 hitters and one pitcher in the top 6. I have another hitter overall I'd throw into the mix.

This is a full 1st round draft in terms of talent. Everyone in Rnd 1 should get someone good.

O'Hearn would have been my pick but not by a huge margin. Getting Dunn and a 2nd while still being able to grab someone who could have gone top 3 is something that won't happen every year.

If O'Hearn was the reason you went for it Mike then good for you, he wasn't going to be there at 5 it seems.

You got a nice haul in return. It was a good deal for both.

I think he's the real deal. Just a personal preference.

But don't listen to me. I've probably had 2 or 3 Top 5 picks in 30 years.

Ya that's the order HAL has. I don't mess with tiebreakers that I recall. I would have to change every round.
