The game loves this Roman Stafford guy. I'm not sure why.

        19-9 in Spring Training.

We have to enjoy this success because we could be in for a LONG year.

14-14 and I am agree with the owner this year .500 ball is fair enough.

2B Mcmillen will be injured during the next week and unfortunately future star RF Williams injured his Elbow and will be out 6 more weeks... Damn it I was hoping to get him in AAA towards July... Let's see how he comes back from the injury

Couple minor injuries on my side. Put out some fliers on JJ Caplan and Geoff Mumme, we'll see how they do. Pitching should be solid this year, at least starting wise. If I shore up the pen, we could make some noise. Division is Pawtucket's to lose but we'll hopefully make progress.

First spring training without Lonnie Hyde in a loong time...but it resulted in back to back strong spring campaigns, hopefully the season result is as good as last season. Indy and Syracuse are both going to be very tough in the division but we have a very confident group.

                  Spring thoughts:

Joey Leger. He's projected to bat second right in front of Ethan Bafford so he should definitely benefit from having the best player in the game right behind him. This spring he crushed the ball to a tune of .336/.352/.566/.917 with 6 HR and 32 RBI in 28 games. If he progresses like I think he's going to, our lineup should really be balanced from top to bottom.

Our second and third base positions are going to be interesting to watch. Veterans Javy Sanchez, Brendan Olsen, Jonathan Herrera and Mauricio Salas are all going to battle for playing time there and we should see strong competition throughout the season.

9 of our hitting regulars are between the ages of 25-28 and with the exception of "Mr. Consistency" AJ Hightower (30), Syversten (27), Brooks (26), Robillard (25), and Walker (25) are all under 28. We've created a really nice young core that has been through the rigors of the ALE and battled to the end with Syracuse last year.

Should be another fun year in the Burgh. We've got a ton of financial flexibility, a top 10 system and a top 5 pick in this years draft.

                  Lets go Millers

Oh Maine isn't exactly a team of chumps. I actually have them pegged to win the Ale and us to follow closely behind.

Not saying we can't repeat, but we had two players (possibly 3) who had career seasons for us LF Pat McLamore being a great example. That's all luck nothing more.

McLamore has a career 121+ OPS.

There is no luck there. He's a damn good player that would have a stronger career had he not started in Morgantown.

                        Yes and no.

                        He is a good hitter.

He's also a guy whose best full season OPS+ entering last year was 123.

                        Then he dropped a 159 OPS+ at age 31.

Unless you put a ton of stock into his success in less than a third of a full season the year before, there wasn't much reason to believe he was capable of his 2013 performance.

He wasn't even hitting anywhere near that well when he was in AAA.

Probably (and should) goes without saying, but get your Opening Day rosters (25 man) in order.

He ended up being a very useful player. Seems 250-300 ABs were right where he should be. In the end his salary demands were way out of whack for us to keep.

We traded C Todd Robideau for him which now seems to be finding his groove, but overall we won 2 Cups with Pat who played a nice part of them. #teamchemistry

Who knows, maybe his demands drop low enough to bring him back.

We gave 'ol Patty lots of chances in Morgantown.
Well, at least I did for his one and only season under my watch before dealing him to Pawtucket.

I wish Pat all the best and hope he breaks his leg during the first week. ;)
