Having said that, a lot of the guys in that league have also been complaining about a less exciting free agency.

I think Markus is trying to emulate MLB by making it easier to extend players. Pre-Arbitration deals are a joke. I take so much advantage of it in OOTP 15 and 16 in other leagues. But everyone does. No commish wants to enforce one hundred rules so you just give free reign.

It's a different league now in the MLB. Stars stay. They only don't when a team has a pipeline of replacements that are less expensive.

But we also have smaller drafts so we are a lot like the NBA in development. 1, maybe 2 guys a draft will have an impact in the BLB level. MLB teams find more than that in a single draft because there's round and rounds of players to choose.

I just think we have a more right-now approach because it's a game, there isn't anything to lose, and rebuilding only takes maybe one real life year.

Honestly, I don't care that it's easier to extend guys or that free agency is weaker. This league has always been more about drafts and trades.

Agreed on last statement. Besides with a few exceptions most players are on the downside of they're career about 31 years of age. I do know Marcus prefers player turnover.

Glad to see 2B Danny Romero landing in Dallas for the next 4 Years, we really need a great 2B for our next project, now that position is covered. Specially good in Washington during his last year, his Gap / Left bat / 8 - 8 Defending fits perfectly in our stadium + pitchers and he will do it very good here.

We also signed minor leaguer SP Hinojosa, a normal guy who maybe will have a shot at some point

Just an idea. Don't kill me on it. Let's find a solution in that thread that works for everyone and is low maintenance.

I'd like to take a moment to endorse utility infielder Brendan Olson as someone a team should sign.

              Here's why.

              1. He can play every infield position competently.

              2. He batted .327 with a .929 OPS last year—including a .375 average and .976 OPS against right-handed pitchers.

              3. He led all of the BLB with a .500 batting average with runners in scoring position. Seriously.

              Give the man a contract.

Actually it wouldn't. It doesn't influence FA. Just helps bad teams who can't accrue consistent talent take from teams who can.

If you have to start the guys early you will have to pay them earlier. Therefore the will become FA earlier or you wouldn't afford massive salariies at that point of your current stars. Therefore they would become FA. Domino's effect

                          Sorry, Shark.

It's a losing battle. Trust me.

:) Thanks Delandis, if they don't want to remove the No Rule V, that's fine but they can't argue about that reasoning :)

You're right. However the main complaint with free agency is the lack of good players. Adding marginal guys to the free agent pool doesn't address that problem.
