#3 SP John Ayala goes down with a 10 month shoulder injury. Not the way he was hoping to enter FA, I'm sure. He goes from one man's trash . . . to the scrap heap.

Also lose Andy Garcia for 2-3 weeks. The division is all but gone and it'll be a struggle to hold on to the last WC spot.

        Only in this division...

We're on an eight-game winning streak. Hooray for catching up in the division race!

        Oh, wait.

Pawtucket is on a NINE-game winning streak.

        Fuck it.

Also Hartford has 19 consecutive losses. New league record?

When you know you're not going to make noise, you take a chance on a thought. Looks like my experiment is not going to work. Thankfully we have a few first round picks and money to spend next off-season.

But thanks for the sim Brad.

9-2 month. This team of vets should be strong down the stretch. Our depth will help even more with the Sept 40 man.

Big set at DAV this week.

39th ranked prospect, and Wilmington SS of the future Jaylen Johnson made his Wildcats debut this week. Starting all 6 games at short, Jaylen hit .304/.333/.565/.899, also logging his first big league HR.

LF Dave Southerland also made his Wildcats debut however my manager used him as a pinch hitter not as a starter like I had set. I'll have to look at what went wrong there.

A few more fresh faces to come for Wilmington in the next few sims.

Big chance to make up some ground this week with Toronto and Syracuse at home. I feel great about the team but damn it if we don't beat Syracuse it doesn't matter. At least Ethan Bafford is still the best player on the planet. Even if he misses 30 games a year

Although I will point out a fun little fact about the 1988 season in MLB.

During the regular season the Mets beat the Dodgers 10 of the 11 times they played during the regular season. The Dodgers faced off against the Mets in the playoffs and were big underdogs but managed to take the series when it counted.

I'm not saying it's going to happen, the reality is we haven't done shit against Syracuse at all this year but there's no way in my opinion they're 10 games better than we are. (Even tho the 12-2 record head to head tells me to shut up and accept that they are)

Water should find its level.....or it'll spill over the edge and we'll keep getting our asses kicked.

Now, I have a question- how exactly do the playoff rosters work. Who's considered eligible and what's the criteria bc even though I've had to set my playoff roster a bunch of times by now I still have no clue who makes it and who doesn't.

                    Short version?

If a guy is on your BLB roster or disabled list on August 31, he is eligible.

If he is not on your BLB roster or disabled list on August 31, he is not eligible.

I feel like that's not right tho? Like if a guy spends 100 days on your roster but gets sent down mid August till sept 5 he should be eligible no?

Dusty Filar is having some kind of season in AA. OPS+ of 201! Not a bad season for a 21 year old!

15 more HR's than the second best hitter
36 more RBI's than the second best hitter
45 more total bases than the second best hitter
1.7 more WAR than the second best hitter

Perhaps I should trade him in a garbage trade... that's par for the course in California, lately.

BLB mimics MLB rules. Same way in MLB. If a guy is in the minors on September 5, even if he was in the majors all year, he isn't eligible.

                            That's not the case-

"Fans often are confused about which players are eligible for the postseason roster. Baseball actually changed the rule slightly this year, and it's worth noting.

In the past, players on the 25-man roster as of Aug. 31 were eligible, along with players on the disabled list. The overall restriction was not that severe, however; any player in the organization could replace an injured player.

The difference now is that all players on the 40-man roster as of Aug. 31 are eligible. The Pirates, for example, can name outfielder Gregory Polanco to their postseason roster even though they will not recall him from the minors until Tuesday." I raised ticket prices 50 cents.

50 f'n cents and my attendance numbers down 5%.

                              Cheap bastards.
