Pawtucket 4-2. We have more loses in the first two weeks of May then we did all of April. After that 1-5 little snag I thought the new scouting report was going to show velocity drops and -2 ratings hits. Wasn't the case. Life got a bit in the way and some of this was my doing. Things are a bit less heptic coming up.

20-12 so least we sit as an average team right now. Think we can recover.

      Odd note...

Due to the results of interleague play over the weekend, every Domestic League team except Maine and New York is now on a losing streak, while every Import League club except Batavia and Windy City is now on a winning streak.

So Jimmy August was suspended for oversleeping and missing the team flight.... I'd oversleep too if I pitched for California.

This was a brutal sim, as Windy City went 0-6. The worst part is that every single player on my team stunk it up, so I can't really learn anything here. I'm just going to have to write this one up as a bad week and try tinkering a bit again after the next sim.

On the plus side, I'm getting more into the game now that I'm in this league. It's way more enjoyable at this pace as opposed to SP where I was blasting through seasons. I felt really overwhelmed, but going one week at a time I feel like I'm learning my guys a bit and probably learning the game much more quickly.

It's a lot better when you have to take time to see the development and progress.

Solo leagues are so boring now.

It continues to amaze me that Al Hamilton, who hasn't registered more than 80 at-bats in a season since 2009 and didn't play at all in the BLB last year, is still playing baseball and producing a .487 OBP in AAA.

My scout has him 4-3-3-7-4. There are only a small handful of players with a "7" on eye. Combined with the lack of the control one would expect in Triple-A, he might have a shot at a .500 OBP on the season.

Unfortunately, the IL doesn't have a DH and Hamilton's "2" defensive rating means he probably rots in Triple-A all year. Maybe he gets called up when rosters expand as a pinch-hit extraordinaire.

Reminds me of Rickey Henderson, Manny Ramirez or one of those other veteran players that held on for so long. Still playing in the minors for the love of the game.
