Tiscareno goes down for 2 months. I guess I won't be trading him.

Nice 5-1 week, but we lose a pretty important piece in Alex Gomez for the remainder of the season. Tough loss there. He's 39 years old; that may be it for him.

5-1 for the Brawlers as we continue to bounce back from those two horrendous weeks earlier. Not hitting well but the pitching is carrying the load right now.

Actually, the playoff odds have you as the current favorite to win the division. We're already a +6 on expected record, which if history is any guide, we will not keep up with that pace.

Los Angeles needs to stop having 4-2 sims so someone can gain some ground.

                      That pitching is so sexy.

Denver is counting on the bats again. Giving Rodriques back his starting spot and not messing with Wright gives us the formidable four man OF of bashers we craved last year.

Screw the defense. My pitchers get grounders and my infield swallows them up. Even McPherson is looking okay in centerfield when he gets to sit around and think about his next at bat instead of chasing balls hit at him.

Would love one more big bullpen arm. Just not sure how I want to make that happen because Lockard, Smith and Reyna are off limits in the minors and Dusty Paulson is doing a really nice job in long relief so no one to really send down...

Might just be the squad until Sheif returns and pushes me to make changes.

Anyway, all that and we are just now at .500. Ho hum.

Finally, finally, finally, a winning sim for the Wildcats. It only took until the second week in May, but we finally won not 1, but 2 series, taking 2 of 3 from both Indy and Toronto. I don't want to go as far as to say Wade Brown is back to form, but it is nice to finally see a couple of wins next to his name. He gave up 2 runs in 6 innings against Indy, and followed up with 7 innings of shutout ball against Toronto. Hopefully he is out of his funk.

                        Down on the farm

C Norm Deiwert continues to develop in AAA hitting .317 with 6 HRs and 12 RBIs in his short time with the club (11 games). SS Jaylen Johnson also continues to improve. In his first week with the Memphis Railcats (AAA) he hit .393 with 9 RBIs. Hopefully this is a good sign for the future of the Wildcats.

Tough sim coming up with 3 games at the always powerful Pittsburgh Millers then home for 3 against Carolina. Hopefully we can continue to get better down there in Wilmington.

Thanks Z they are looking good. I was worried about moving Leger to 1B but he seems to be doing well. Monks started the year in AAA because I really wanted Shane Berry to do well but he hasn't really lived up to his potential. Plus Monks started the year on fire. Its almost like he wanted me to feel stupid for sending him to AAA haha!

5-1 week; 3-0 @ Toronto, 2-1 vs. Indy. Great week with the only loss being 2-5 in a game started by a rookie.

Did however have another injury: IF Alex Otero will miss a week due to a hamstring strain. Starting in his absence was 3B Ron Liverett who is finally hitting to the level he did in college. I don't expect it to continue but his .322 AVG and .880 OPS has been a nice surprise so far.
