So we end April with a 13-7 record and then open May with five straight wins to have us sitting at 18-7. Yet somehow we are in second place. Looks like those Porter boys are marking their territory early in the Stout.

Notes for the Month of April:

-How in THE hell does Todd Taylor (SP) NOT win IL POM in April? 3-1, 1.13 ERA, 0.68 ERA, 36K, 6 BB. I mean Aguilar (CHI) had a damn good week but, c'mon, son!

-Dave Sanders (OF) turned it up this week, going yard in 4 (3 straight) of 7 games this week. He hit .391 with a 1.526 OPS. With that kind of week, he convinced me that it will be Jimmy Lee (OF) who gets moved to the bench vs. RHP this season.

-Our pitching staff is playing top notch baseball right now, as we are either #1 or #2 in the IL in nearly every major pitching category. We are getting a lot of strong performances from the rotation and the 'pen. I can't complain about much of anything right now.

It really sucks to be Wilmington right now.

5-2 for the Brawlers to bounce back after two bad weeks. Highlight was a sweep of Death Valley which included an 11 run inning in one game. Didn't think we had that in us. Gets back within a 1/2 game of first again.

It was my idea to place Morgantown in the Bock rather than putting Wilmington there, so I claim partial credit.

The only division the Wildcats could win this year is in the Pumpkin League.

I can't remember the last time we had a four-horse race in a division anywhere.

Yea but 9.5 games back looks so much better than 14.5

Zachary Potter is electric in the pen.
Jamie McPherson earns DL POTW - second consecutive for a Denver player.
In the farm, Reyna seems comfortable in AAA.

Not sure of the official timing at this exact moment, but we should get started up relatively soon (this weekend/early next week)?

I'd vote early next week. Labor day weekend is tough.
