You don't have to report in. SIM's not for 2 days.

I expect to see some nice playoff previews in the News section!

I'll be writing an DC-Balt preview...unless Delandis wants to?

2012 Playoffs SIM 1 (WC) Complete - Next SIM Wed 8/5

That's all you Pat. I'm on "vacation" with the in-laws right now.

And for once I'd like the extra time because I have no idea when I'll have time to sit down and send Bratt our playoff requests.

I think both playoff games are worth "watching" if you have the time.

I'll do a much more detailed preview...maybe of the entire playoffs probably tomorrow....

But getting the injury diagnosis for SP Troy Martin (3 months) and OF Pat Ladd (5 months) on consecutive days, 10/6 and 10/7, is a real fucking bummer. Martin has arguably been my best pitcher this season and Ladd has without a question been my best hitter. Plus, they are the only two players "hot" on my active roster. I luckily have decent rotation and outfield depth but losing them kills my chances to go far in the playoffs.

Oh well. Still got a Stout title and my owner is happy just to make the playoffs.

Also, we need to address this before next season somehow and deal with the players from this season that slipped through on the age bug.

Haraguchi, Piekarski, Santoyo, Boyce, Morales, Smith, Howell, Saucedo, Harward, and McLamore all hit to their levels...some even exceeded expectations.

Mason got hurt twice and was a bit off all year. But he's a streaky hitter with low work ethic. Herrera had a down year but he's also 36-years-old, and showing decline. Infante and Patterson were down but that might be because they were upset about not starting every day.

Those 2 were the biggest disappointments. They actually did start, but get benched for they're poor play. Historically been .280 + hitters. Patterson did hit well from the lead off spot so maybe it was just figuring him out. Infante.....no clue.

The issue with Mason was his sharp power number decline. Still love his defense, but expect more from the bat. Pat Howell also bombed terribly and he was important against lefties or so we thought.

Like I said , some tweaks. The pitching isn't going anywhere.
