We won four of six on the road while Pittsburgh split their six home games.

This result puts us in a great spot.

Tied atop the Ale.

Three of our four remaining series take place in Maine—two of them three-game series against division opponents Pittsburgh and Pawtucket.

The lone remaining road series consists of four games at Hartford.

What an interesting sim.

2-1 vs. California - Lost 2B Danny Romero to a month long injury early in the first game. However, still won the first two then gave the ball to rookie SP Ernie Fields and he got rocked...then the mopup got rocked...while SP Alex Meija pitched a gem for the Kodiaks.

1-2 @ Baltimore - Lost the first and third games by one-run both games in extra innings. The 2nd game SP Robby Duffy pitched 8 shutout innings of one-hit ball with one walk and 11 strikeouts. To me, this just proves how valuable home field advantage is going to be if these two teams matchup in the playoffs.

Baltimore only won those two games after being swept by Death Valley. Davenport, Washington and Baltimore are now all 86-63, with Death Valley just one game back at 85-64. Exciting.

But it really shouldn't be the case. 1B Tom Smith, 2B Tood Boyce, CF Mason, OF Eli Ruiz, C Dave Piekarski & historically good against lefties but not this year LF Johnny Patterson should of been enough especially playing in Pawtucket.

Never had so many hitters off like this.

Wow. Never thought we'd do that.

5-1 Homestand. 3-0 vs BAL, 2-1 vs CHI.

Pulido, Honea, Fajardo, Clarke, and Arnholt all throw gems. Arnholt has started two games and has thrown 12 innings and given up just 3 ER for a 2.25 ERA.

Pulido re-ups on a great deal. He had wanted $27m at the end of a 4 year deal on a player option with the years escalating significantly from reasonable to absurd. Then in the last 2 sims he was suddenly all about getting an extension. We save $4m on his arbitration # in 2013 ($6m), and probably $5m in 2014 ($7.2m) and then get him for a flat rate of $13.5m in 2015 and 2016 with the last year a TO - our payroll drops by about 20% in 2015, so that's a great value for us.

Our OF is on fire. Gutierrez and Anthony stepping up here in Sept, Willie Garcia (22 G, .378/.477/.757) and Rogelio Guadamuz (20 G, .348/.423/.674) are both hot and have really produced in Vegas for almost nothing in return as they enter FA.

Sid Bourne is the weak link in the rotation right now and we will probably use him to align match-ups these next two weeks. I still think he will be good for us, he's just not there yet. Look for a 5 man rotation these last 13 games as we look to steal the #1 WC spot or the Stout.

We get DAV in a huge match-up on the road this week and then at WAS in a huge match-up next week. We need to show up at WIL and vs MOR to keep this close, but I'm impressed with the fight in this club without our Ace.

I agree 100%. We have never had a Triple Crown winner. It's probably only a matter of time before Murillo gets it.

Your next three opponents, Wilmington, Philly and California, are the three worst records in the IL not named Los Alamos. Then you have three head-to-head games against Baltimore.

Crazier things have happened in the BLB.

2-4 but I'll take it.

We rested Jimmy Jones (OF) and Billy Alvarado (3B) early in the week to try and have a rested team to face Washington. It was a gamble that we'd be able to pitch well enoughto sneak in a win or two against DVS that almost paid off. Either way, I'm fine with the result even if it was a sweep. Our pitching can keep us in games we just need that single moment of greatness at the plate and we'll be ok.

We were able to hold off Washington winning 2 of 3 at home. Duffy had his best game of the season, while Ruedas pitched his worst in the 0-7 loss. Shit happens. Also, although the Bats only lost by one in the third game, it was mainly a uncharacteristically, poor performance by Ian Strachan (CL) who blew a 3-run lead with two outs in the 9th that made the game closer than it should have been.

Jones, Alvarado, Santana, Crespin, and Tanaka all crapped in the bed this week. I don't expect to see the same poor performance next week but you never know sometimes. I'm hoping for a 6-1 week against Los Alamos and California but 5-2 or 4-3 is much more likely. We would like to have that #2 seed going into the playoffs, though.

One more week and we'll hopefully be able to welcome Terumoto Chiba(1B) back into the lineup. If he returns on time, he can get a full week of reps to help knock off any rust going into the playoffs. His ability to get the bat on the ball will make us a bit more potent offensively on the road and definitely at home.

One week until Luna comes back and the best lineup in the game settles back into place for our playoff push.

Tanaka has been filthy in the seventh, raymer bangs too many broads but goddamn he's filthy. And tubby is tubby.
