He'll have plenty of time to sit around after the wild card game this year. Most people golf when their seasons are over, he sits.

Oh wait, that's right, Buffalo Wild Wings. Nvm.

A "hey something is weird, Rice released a stud prospect" post would have been more benificial and in the interest of the league. Stuff like this just bugs me. Brad and I work hard to run a great league and keep the competitive balance but it takes everyone to do so.

I'm not bringing it up again but it's now another thing I need to check and try and watch.
I wasn't sure there was anything that can be done. Its a game, were gonna have quirks. Didn't bring it up since I really didn't feel like causing a stink. I look at the top 100 prospects every sim and I noticed a new guy, saw the history on the guy laughed and moved on.

We keep trying to close every loophole. Its like trying to make the top 1% pay taxes or changing the goofballs in the middle east. Aint gonna happen.

I think the point here is how many people noticed and didn't say anything. It's our league, let's try and keep the integrity.

In 2001, Windy City drafted the #5 overall prospect in the Rule V Draft, Travis Neal.

Now Windy City lands the #14 overall prospect on mixup by OOTP.

          The Playboys are blessed.

I dug a little deeper. It looks like there was a few players released by their teams who should have been draft eligible:

            Ron Booth - http://www.simgamingnetwork.com/blb/...ayer_4958.html
            Pat Kaufman - http://www.simgamingnetwork.com/blb/...ayer_3774.html

Booth was released and signed by Philadelphia the same way Teel was cut/signed by Windy City. Kaufman was released the same date but signed two sims later.

so the problem is the game releases them from their college team too late for the draft list?

Thanks Pat. I was going to do this when I got home. The issue is that they were released BEFORE the draft. I haven't looked at Teel, but I wonder if it has something to do with their 18th birthdays?

Both of the guys you posted turned 18 right before the draft.

                  Is that the issue?

But these guys turned 18 right before the draft. I think because of their birthdays and because of the feeder league expansion these newly created players really should have been eligible last year, but couldn't be because they didn't exist.

I'm betting its a one time thing because of the expansion.

Shouldn't they be manually put in the feeders then - college or Cape Cod - and then go into the draft?

All players have to pass through the draft before being BLB eligible - even if signed as UDFA right? Well, except for internationals because they are considered professionals and are openly bid on. So those guys are an OOTP bug and should have to follow amateur player rules.

Whoops, I randomly signed him because I needed a sub 23 year old at A level. Never looked at his history. I'll be happy to reassign/release/terminate with extreme prejudice, whatever.
