The end of the line is near for Koichi Nakashima. I didn't think he would fall so fast, but after two more losses this week he sits at 1-9 with a ERA near 5 and a 1.63 WHIP.

EDIT: In saying "fast," I do know he's 39.

I certainly could make a couple adjustments.

Kataoka is rehabbing but unfortunately I think he's lost a step. Still not sure if I want to force Chutz and he hasn't stayed healthy enough to show me much in AAA.

Anybody want Marco Perez for a cheap rental? That asshole has lost his last game in a Bulldogs uni.

Despite out scoring the Mohawks 18-8, the series was split 2-2. In four starts SPs Dave Lippert, Troy Martin, Tyler Salzman and Jimmy Razza combined to give up just four earned runs.

Recent additions 1B Jon Montalbo and 2B Tyler Winslow made their debuts. Small sample size but Montalbo in 12 PA: .333 AVG, .833 OPS. With 1B Diego Flores cold, hitting just .188/.526 in July, Montalbo will get his fair share of at bats.

It's late July and the Bats are sending their first BLB'er to the disabled since Spring Training. I regularly give my players days off during the week but to go the entire first half of the regular season without an injury longer than four days is pretty damn lucky. CF Jamie Urmsonhas a hamstring strain and will miss the next three weeks. Maybe this will finally shut up CF Manny Reyes about not starting.

To replace Urmson on the 25-man roster, the Bats will call up veteran OF Koi-Sho Chai. Some are you are probably familiar with the name. Originally a 10th round pick of Syracuse in 1998 and was released a year later. He was then signed by Washington for $450K to play in the minors. In 2001, Andrew drafted him in the Rule V for Hartford where he played until 2009 when he became a Free-Agent and signed with Batavia. the past few years he has bounced between the Washington and Maine farm systems. According to my scout and OSA, he still has a "7" on eye vs. LHP and should see some playing time against southpaws.

I accept this result. Now one game behind Pittsburgh in the Ale.

Dave Toste made his debut this week with three and two-thirds scoreless innings across two games of relief work.

Fernando Hernandez will miss two weeks of action with a strained triceps. Not sure if Toste or Rogelio Morales will make those starts.

Jaylen Sifford struggled at the plate in his first BLB series. He'll be okay.

Ian Lippert blasted three more home runs in the four game series.

6 more shutout innings for T.J. Davis.

                  Starting off better than expected.

Scherer scored what should have been the game winning RBI with his first hit in Baltimore, Jake. But Perez blew it by giving up 2 runs in the 9th.

But either way, he's a nice bat to come off the bench or spell Santana.

I'm still blown away Dallas nailed its evaluation of right fielder Dave Martin.

I like Scherer. Knows his (backup) role, nice D, just never hit in Syracuse. Outside of his rookie year he had a 100+ OPS+ each campaign in Pittsburgh.

Would have been fine keeping him at his price too, but with Dave Morrison mashing in AAA we needed to clear some space.

If (and when) the Dinos hold on to their division, they will have won the Lager for 6 straight seasons.

Outside of the cheater and Playboys, I don't think anyone else has had the stranglehold on their division like Yahn and Co.
