Also, the HTML is old on the standings page, we're like 4 1/2 games out after our rampageous 6-0 sim. In fact, we're in the hunt for a couple players as I speak, just waiting to hear back from GM's...

I'm still devastated by his injury. 50K's or so away from the record, 4 wins away from 200 and then this. He has a player option for next year. Will he exercise it? I hope. He deserves that record. But he's also dieing quickly so who knows.

                Rooting for him.

On a similar note, the disparity in win totals between pitchers who debuted in 1978 versus later guys is huge. We need to start factoring it into HOF voting.

Active wins leaders and their ages:

                196—Jamie Herberholz (39)
                188—Fernando Hernandez (35)
                178—Jody Richards (38)
                167—Alex Mejia (37)
                165—Travis Fisher (37)
                164—Jamie Thomas (33)
                151—Edgar Mejia (34)

If we continue holding out for pitchers with 200-250 career wins, no one will be enshrined. Even accumulating 150 wins is a major achievement in this league.

This is one of the things that makes Herberholz remarkable. Look at how many innings the record holder has for all time K's compared to him as well. Even without the record IMO he's the greatest strikeout pitcher of all time. The company he is in are all the old school 70's pitchers.

                      Exactly.

Put in context, what pitchers like Herberholz and Hernandez achieve is more impressive.

Our minor league teams started the season terribly this year.

After the draft, I reorganized our clubs and tried new personnel strategies, especially at the lower levels.

I'm especially pleased with our A-ball club, considering I believe guys develop better when the team plays well.

                        Gettysburg (A)

                        17-46 (.270) record before June 18
                        19-7 (.731) record since June 18

Not so concerned about winning down there , but we got a nice little dynasty going right now in Lynn (AAA)

I'm amazed at how well my post-draft players are hitting. It's a very small sample size but so far:

                              1.17 - SS AJ Bonified: .812 OPS
                              3.9 - 2B Milt Tynan: .876
                              5.17 - 3B Jarrod Sanders .876 (17-years-old)
                              8.17 - 3B Dave Hander .721
                              9.17 - RF Ed Hruza .879
                              UDFA - 1B Ed Sims .899
                              UDFA - C Ted Collins .990

My club does play in a slight hitters park but still.

My 17 year olds are doing better- I think this is a reflection partly of the lack of 30 year old guys in the league pitching to 1.50 ERAs. My 17 year olds are hitting above .300!
