Pittsburgh did well trading into the pick for Jaden Brown. He was on my list. He mashed the ball in high school.

And of course it's Pittsburgh that sees him. I've come to the conclusion that you and Pitt see amateurs in a similar way to me so I must never allow you to have later round picks before me. Since I don't want to have a worse record, I must acquire those picks.
You two were active in making that happen. I need to be more active in that area.Denver Bulls

Pawtucket drafts CF Pat Schropp. Has some popularity and nice high school stats. My scout thinks he could be good "with some refinement".

Having said the above, I had Jonathan Cox as my second target after Brown.
This is where I'm intrigued to see what happens with Cox defensively. My scout is not very good at projecting defense. I've noticed that when he blew it on McPherson, Perkins and Rodriques. Though he did accurately predict Verba would be better than advertised.
He sees Cox as a better than capable receiver who needs only more experience at the position.
I like the differences in OSA and Sanchez (my scout). Outside of differing opinions in contact, they both see Cox as a hard hitter with a good eye. Great leadership skills and a high work ethic (along with my development budget) makes me believe we can get him closer to what Sanchez sees than what OSA sees.
I'm very happy with this being our first selection. It will be a while before we see him in the BLB, assuming all goes well. But I envision him being a starting catcher, especially with his ratings likely being the norm by the time he's a regular starter in ten years.Denver Bulls
