At least ten guys in this draft will have long careers. And that's probably being stingy. It's much higher.

Just because your scout doesn't like someone, doesn't mean someone won't break through. Make the pick. Find someone even if it's unconventional.

You have to have a team philosophy. If you don't, I advise you find one. Some guys think defense first. So they draft only great defenders. Some guys want players with great eyes. So they draft eye guys. Etc.

Those are simple examples but without a structure in place, of course you won't like anything. But why let the cpu choose someone randomly when you can choose someone that at least fits a plan?

It's not like anyone here is seriously going to say your plan is stupid. They might not approve but at least you had one.

IMO, I love this time of year (especially now since we arent a playoff team). You get to roll the dice a bit on guys that arent projected to do much but in the end, they are just projections. Its fun doing homework on the draftees.

I feel like we just got the best hitter in the draft, C Ted Sandy out of Bowling Green (HS). 65736, nice projection, average fielding potential.

Guys how good are your trainners in your minor teams?? There is not too many outsanding trainers to sign i from the street right now and I guess "Good" is basically rubbish to develop your gems

Rolled back Indys pick since I was informed the draft clock didn't stop and the pick was made in the middle of the night. I will PM Ryan to check.

EDIT: Indy selects SP Aiden Gay. Scout has him 5-5-6, with an average to good cutter, slider, and change. Solid stamina and great intangibles, outside of that greed.

About the best I could have hoped for here, in this draft.

Aiden loves a good game of cards with his teammates, though.

On auto because I am going out of town and been working too much lately. My point wasn't about making picks it is simply as much as I like this game the scouting part sucks to me.

1.12 Mat Marcus RF (6'5 -195 16 year old) Marcus was ranked 4th overall on our board for hitters, and according to my scout, he's the only player in this draft who he believes has star potential. Has him at 6/6/8/5/5. OSA doesn't agree but with the second of three first rounders we'll take a shot.

1.13 Tristan Nelson C (UNC) another really good looking bat, he had a nice season at UNC, was positive UZR and only committed one error behind the dish. Last years first round pick Jimmy Evans looks completely lost in single A, takes ratings bumps every sim it seems, so we're going to use our third first rounder on Nelson.

Couldn't be happier with how our draft has started.

Everyone continues to harp on how this draft sucks. I read on an OOTP board that in prior games there were more guys rated high with more busts, this version has more guys who surprise over time.

I'll take my chances. 3 picks down, 12 to go.

You have the right attitude. That Jake idiot is an idiot.

I love the draft. I'm upset I don't have any first round picks, but there's no one on my team this year I want to trade away for one.
