It would have to be a full reboot. I wouldn't trust the league file created before whatever patch we start with.

I can't decide between 1, 3, or 4. #3 probably is our best bet, but that puts a huge amount of work on Andrew. I'm torn, but if I had to pick one it'd be either #3 or #1.

Out of curiosity, if we start over, if there any way to do a partial initial draft? Like could we live draft the first 5-10 rounds and then let the CPU take over? Because the CPU obviously doesn't have much of a clue when left to its own devices, and we could at least minimize the damage the CPU can do to our teams in the early going....

Yes, we could probably do that.

I'd also want to turn coaches on, and probably scouts. While I think it was the right decision to leave scouts off originally, everyone having the same view of the ratings makes the league a little too generic. I'd like to see people make decisions more based on performance than ratings. Now that we're all comfortable with the team management aspects, I think we can handle the extra responsibility. It would also require people to participate since if you forget to scout players or draft classes, you'd be in pretty tough shape.

No clue. Supposedly they changed how the CPU evaluates players some, but we'd have to test it to find out.

I'm sure they tested this prior to the release of the second patch, but is there any guarantee patch #2 will work with a newly started league or is it possible we could encounter some of the same problems (export/import via FTP)?

I'd hate to start over for nothing, only to find out we could've/should've just reverted back to the first patch.

No, that's something we've had to test as well. It might not make sense to start over if we're waiting for a new patch regardless.

The same errors occur on new leagues created with v1.02. I created a quick test league, made some transactions and then imported them to another copy and it deleted my entire active roster and the players involved in the transactions disappeared.

Well that throws a kink into things.

How the hell did all of this slip by them? Or is that why they are calling it a "work in progress"?

They obviously havn't put too much effort into testing online leagues. I would encourage anybody who has an account over on the OOTP forums to voice their displeasure (in a constructive way).

I'm down for whatever. but it'd be tough to give up and start fresh... kinda building a report with my team.

I say we roll back to the last version. Maybe in the future we should wait a week or two before installing a new patch to make sure everything works ok.

My biggest concern is when we just had to re-download the file and re-export I had made a ton of changes the time before that were all gone since it was a new league file. I made them all over again so would I lose them again? I'd really hate to as I spent at least 2 hours both times and have little time before I go out of town. Would I be able to use one of the last full league files that had the changes I made?

It seems like more people are in favor of waiting until the problems are fixed and biding our time with a draft. We'll definitely be waiting before intalling patches like this in the future. I'm kicking myself for not testing it first.

As far as the exports, I still have them all but can't guarantee they'll work. I think people can also make changes on the current league file posted if they want, but again can't guarantee they'll work. I have a feeling they will because the problem seems to be in how the changes are exported and imported rather than the league file or how the normal transactions work, but you never know.
