  • 2011 End of Season Awards

    Pimp away.

The utility is open with just two weeks left in the BLB. Feel free to vote for any "locks" then finish up any other races once the post season starts.

    http://www.simgamingnetwork.com/blb/...eos_ballot.php

    - Voting is mandatory
    - Vote in ALL Categories!!
    - Voting begins immediately and will last until the last SIM of the playoffs or final ballot is received.
    - Teams who don't submit a fair ballot may have their votes invalidated. (ie leaving a rival player off the ballot so your guy wins, etc)
    - Voting will be done in the utility using the link above.

I'll pimp SP Mcdade for "New Brew" DL.

I don't pimp very often, but this really is a no brainer. Sample size is more then enough. Do the right thing.

Fernando Hernandez is a very strong DL Pale Ale Candidate. ERA, wins, lots of the good stuff you look for.

Also, Voodoo Davila for Stout Slugger. Leading the DL in OBP as a catcher!

Squid or Sully for J Allen Wright. They had the creative thinking skills to make their teams powerful.

I'm impressed with what a couple DL guys did. Two specifically. The IL is tough because I think most of the success comes from developing their own guys. Not to take away the foresight to draft and promote appropriately. I do like what a couple teams did there as well.

              Ian Brooks - New Brew
              15 wins
1st in DL hits per 9 IP
              1st in DL Opps. AVG
              1st in DL Opps SLG
              2nd in DL Opps. OPS
              2nd in DL BABIP

He's been amazing the second half of the season. This one feels like a no-brainer given he's been in the BLB the entire season.

Others deserve consideration for other awards, just not sure they have the numbers to win them. Ortega has been great but he was a reliever for half the season, but should still get some votes for Pale Ale.

Mcdade is better, both have equal WARS with McDade only having 17 starts. I can put his stats all up for comparison, but you'll squeak by with "sampling" even though McDade hasn't even flinched since moving up.

                  You get the asterisk.

He won't win it with the Mejia Fever that has swept the nation, but Todd Taylor (SP) has had an outstanding year, almost single-handedly willing us into a position to be in the playoffs this year.

Since 6/14, the man has gone 11-1 (17 starts) with a 2.33 ERA, 119 IP (7.0 IP/start), 31 ER, 21 BB and 98 K. He does lead the IL in WAR and is 2nd behind Mejia with a .99 WHIP. He has pitched about 30 more innings than Mejia and has continued to shine despite the extra workload.

Vote Taylor for IL Pale Ale!!!

Brooks has an 8-1 record since June 1st with an ERA hovering at 2.00. He's been my ace the past few months. You chose to leave McDade in AAA, I chose to let Brooks take his lumps early on.

Didn't need him at 1st. We had last year's Pale Ale award winner at his spot. As for lumps...McDade chose to not to go thru it:

Each should have 3 more starts so might get some better clarity down this stretch?

Who cares?! I'm voting Ron Robertson. Look at his stats and tell me you aren't impressed the rest of the rotation hasn't beat him into the disabled list. You know why? Because he's a fighter and he knows how to take his lumps no matter the size of his opponents...uh, teammates.

Since June 1st. Robertson has taken five black eyes, two knees to the groin, and a wet willie in the middle of a start from the Tom Stolarik - which confused some people since Tom isn't the outgoing type, but it was his attempt at fitting in.

Robertson has also blown zero saves and is such a nice guy, he's let other teams win 17 times. Come on!
