Guides go 5-1, taking two of three in Pawtucket and sweeping the three-game series at New Orleans.

Rough week for New Orleans, as their owner passed away.

Four games back in the Ale.

Longtime Morgantown Mohawk Ted Dickerson, who pitched for our AAA Portsmouth club this season before blowing out his shoulder, announced his retirement last week.

Two home series against Los Angeles and Dallas this week. Opportunities abound.

Pawtucket 4-3. Maine isn't making it easy, but we're done with that crazy 17 days off and still really like where we are at. Need 10 more wins to get back to back 100 win season.

Need to take advantage of our favorable schedule next few weeks to avoid that one game wildcard nonsense.

That's a good thing. Pitt pushed us all season and we turned out ok.

I think teams can get lazy.

I know yall are busy but any word on putting up the HOF voting? The game doesn't lose players if we skip years voting, does it?

Thanks Brad. Sully is about to clinch. It's looking like we will definitely be visiting Maine...or Pawtucket.

We can induct anyone at anytime. We turned it off in game but could turn it back on if wanted.

                  (77-66; 2nd in Porter, 7 GB)

The Home Stretch: We split with Batavia and take 2 of 3 from Washington to put us at 4-3 for the week. We end the week 6 games up on both of this week's opponents for that final wildcard spot. After our luck with injuries this year, there is no way I thought we'd be in this position as the regular season comes to a close.

Target Practice: Abraham Santana (C) was born to play in Phillips Field. Since moving to the Land of Milk and Park Factors, Santana has raised his average almost 40 points. However, the real story is HOW his OBP has risen almost 90 points. Instead of pitching to him, it seems that teams have copied the Philadelphia Freedom SOP and resorted to pitching AT the league's best catcher. In 139 PA in New York this year, Santana was beaned just 3 times. In 291 PA in Baltimore, he has been hit by a pitch 17 times. Javier Nazario (MOR) has also been hit by a pitch 20 times this season, but he has 110 more plate appearances than Santana.

Old Man on Fire: Sometimes, it just takes the older guys a little time to get ready to do the deed. Before August 1st, Tex Watts (SS) was a .198/.299/.599 guy and on the brink of going on the waiver wire. Something finally turned on the for the man as he has been one of our more dangerous hitters, racking up 24 walks, 4 home runs, and 17 RBI with an impressive .928 OPS since August 1st. If Tex can do this at 39 years old, the young guys around here have no excuses.

A Part Time Job: Oscar Sanchez (LF) has had an up and down year at the plate, but his defense in the outfield for us has been amazing. While playing just 65 games in left field, Sanchez has a zone rating of +13.2. The leader in left field in zone rating is Ethan Bafford (PIT), but his +14.0 is in 122 games played in left field.

The Week Ahead: This week we face the Playboys and Amigos from the Bock. Our remaining opponents' win % is .460 so we have to take care of business with the teams that are struggling and inch closer to that final playoff spot in the IL.

Wow. Had the time to look at Carolina.

They have to be the front runner for the title. Oh and Murillo is a f'n monster.

That Crows jersey is pretty cool.
