Contenders, David Santoyo can be your middle infielder for the stretch run. He hits for power and gets on base a lot. Make some offers :)

We miss these! Thanks to Pat for the reminder.
Denver BC 50-44, 10 GB (2nd in Wildcard)
3-1 vs. Dallas
What Went Right
Well, we won a four-game series against our division rivals and Pilsner leaders. It got us to move up from 12 back to 10 back. That's minor but good momentum as we start the second half of this season.
Jimmy Brenizer was given the starting catching job when Jamie McInturf was shipped out. The move was made for Jimmy's defense (anyone's defense is better than Jamie's, but still Jimmy is a pretty good defensive catcher) and confidence that his bat would do great in Rocky Top. It has. Brenizer hit a home run and batted .444. The former LA Dino was hitting under .200 in a spare role but is now at .280 for the season.
Jamie McPherson seems to be enjoying DH with less CF responsibility (he does play to give the often injured Cash some extra rest). McPhenom went 8-for-12 in the four games.
Second-year player Tom Wright made his first all-star team and immediately deposited 2 dingers in the four-game set. He's taken claim to the LF job, though we wish he played better defense.
What Went Wrong
We let Banuelos play against lefties and he didn't enjoy it very much. We signed Finkler to hit lefties and this series was proof it's better to keep it that way. While Finkler isn't great against lefties, it helps sit Banuelos for a day of rest.
Colin Reed lost the magic that made his 2010 season so special. He has been demoted. Dave Brewer will take over the 2B job permanently.
Oscar Gaxiola had a very good first half but started the second half while on a little slide. It continued and he was hit hard by Dallas. We need him to be that first half pitcher so he's more than the usual fifth starter.
Down in the Farm
2011 First-Round Pick Manny Reyna (otherwise known as the guy that will make or break the Dave Perkins trade) was knocking on the AA door. After going 3-0 in 4 starts with 40:6 K:BB ratio in 30 innings in Little Rock, he was promoted to Oklahoma City (AA). His first start went well as he struck out 9 batters in 8.1 innings for the win.
T.J. Davis (acquired from Pittsburgh in the first Tameike deal) continues to sizzle in AAA. He is now 7-5 with a 1.83 ERA after throwing 8 shutout innings, striking out 11.
And Zachary Potter threw only 4 innings in a rain delayed game. With a 1.14 WHIP, he looks better at every higher level. Maybe that means good things in the BLB level.
What's Next?
More Pilsner action. We play three at home against Indianapolis and three on the road in Syracuse. Denver is 7-3 against the Clowns and expects to continue that dominance this season with a series win. A mediocre 4-6 record against Syracuse is reminiscent of the struggles our team has had with the Slammers, but with the upstate New York squad in the midst of a slump, we think this is the chance to move to 6-7, at the very least.Last edited by Carlos; 05-01-2015, 05:00 PM.Denver Bulls

I have an OF problem with Perkins but he was worth 1.24 by himself. Shedding Cash has opened our budget immeasurably.Death Valley Scorpions (2003-Present)
