Hmm, injuries starting to stack up for us. Griffiths suffers a setback and is out another month and now Goto is down for a month too. Our pitching is going to need to really step up over the next month.

Womp. 1-5. Swept by Syracuse and lost 2 of 3 to Death Valley.

We didn't hit this sim. If we don't hit, we don't have a chance.

But we are done with April which I expected would be rough. Onto May. I expect improvement.

Verba did win DL POTM. Congrats to him. Hopefully he stays healthy. And glad to have Rodriques back!

Pawtucket 5-1. I figured our poor home start wouldn't last forever.

No injuries and Dave P goes from cold to hot in one week.

SP Talley slowly becoming the ACE of this staff, but I will say SP Lemus is a close #2. Though he's pitch better with our defense behind him. So far its worked out.

4-3 sim, putting us at 16-9 in April. The injury bug appears as Cash and Cole go down in the same game. A little annoyed with my manager for stealing Pulido's start in extra innings of Game 2 vs Denver and then throwing Melgoza in Game 3. Otherwise, we're playing well.

I really like the make-up of this team. It's only a month, but my focus on pitching is finally showing up in the young guys too. Sure, giving up 2.8 rpg isn't going to stay that way, but I think we're rounding into a dominant staff from SP through the 9th inning. Our 2.55 team ERA and giving up just 71 runs is encouraging.

I'll cross my fingers Bell (3-1 2.27) and Clarke (3-1 3.30) can keep their ERAs down the whole season. Marrujo got roughed up as an MR this week but overall he's been great. Melgoza minus his start vs DEN which bloated his #s has been impressive in the bullpen. Bryant is a formidable lefty, Nourse has come around now that he's not closing in NO, and Gruell to Manning is scary for hitters after the 7th. We're going to add former Scorpion Chris Navarette off the waiver wire to the pen this week and give him a shot to stick.

Hitting wise, Travis Anthony is going to be a star. Dowling has been great holding down 2B and Masao Nara has progressed as I hoped when I got him from PHI with Honea for Lindsey. His versatility at 1B and in the corner OF spots was what I loved about him, but his contact, power and eye are starting to round out. Those 3 are going to be the anchors of the future with Dave Richardson and Alex Godinez. This team has a nice balance of vets and youth.

I'm working hard to add another hitter in the OF, so if anyone has one that I haven't spoke with please let me know. I don't want a RF only type. I'd prefer someone who can field LF and play some CF. If they could play both that's a huge plus. I think a real high end hitter in the middle of this line-up could make us a 100+ win team without any major injuries. I'm willing to pay the price for one if someone wants to add picks and a high end pitching prospect. Just PM me.

Not much to complain about. I like the balance in our lineup this year when healthy. We aren't relying on one or two guys to carry us. Brooks is improving and I really expect him to transform into a top of the rotation guy over the next two seasons. We are a much more complete team this year in all areas.

                Oh.....and.....

Does seem the new version isn't as forgiving to pitchers with flaws. That or we just have alot of really good hitters in the league now?

Well, we wrap up April at 15-9. Not bad considering the anchor of our lineup has zero HRs and a whopping 4 RBI so far on the year. Perhaps the DL stint for Goto will get his head right.

I think we have a lot of hitters from a older version that are way better than the hitters of the previous and current version we are running.

It does skew things a bit for now. I think eventually in ten seasons when most of those guys are old and getting ready to retire, we will see more balance. And those 4 contact guys will be better than they are perceived.

3-3 keeping pace. Haven't found our optimal lineup yet. Been expirimenting with different variations and nothing has been super successful yet.

Not sure if you guys have heard but Johnny Talley really seems like he's getting it, idk if any of you knew that or if you've missed the 12 times funclown has said it. But if you did, he's getting it so now you know.

We swung our dicks around in Carolina, they're softer than the fecking shit inside twinkies so that was fuckin sweet.
