Blah. I didn't double-check that my previous export went through. That's disappointing. At least we won a few games.

Pawtucket 3-4. Survived the 7 game road trip in the Ale which is never easy.

If we can get out of April above .500 we'll take it.

Thanks for the sim Brad and the Tobs just keep ebbing along. A bunch of ejections for my opponents during the week. Must have been a bad crew.

4-3 split with Pawtucket. AJ Hightower continues to pitch well, 37 Ks to 4 walks to this point. 170 IP and 263 Ks to reach bold prediction.

Patterson out 5 weeks= we'll see what Shane Berry can do vs lefties

Logo situation is all kinds of screwed up. I'm BLB set up illiterate.

Spear, gonna need a conference call soon!

Brad and Matt thanks for the sim yall are my heros

3-3 on the week | 11-8 on the season (1 game lead in the division); seems like it will be that kind of season where everyone stays pretty bunched in the Porter. We're just hoping to hang around the division lead long enough to get some momentum going later in the season. One thing's for sure: Our offense will continue to struggle as long as Goto is not hitting.

I get this strange feeling were going to be at each others throats yet again this season.

Hopefully I won't trade my most productive player for 6th round picks in August this year

2-5. Our pitching did us in this time. Though, that's not exactly true since it was Gaxiola and Goodhart which I expect will be on and off. We lost a game 4-3 in which Schiefelbein went 7 innings giving up 3 runs. And we lost 3-0 in a game Robertston struck out 9 in 6 innings. Our offense plays like itself those two games and we are 4-3 in the week.

So we lose 3 of 4 against LA and 2 of 3 against New Orleans. Now .5 back of Dallas.

Offense was amazing again. Everyone regular starter hit at least .292. We OPSed .832 as a team. We now get Rodriques back. Huge addition to the lineup since Finkler returned to form with an ugly week.

But the real ugly is losing Dave Weitz to an UCL tear and surgery. He's probably done. He will be a full year out of baseball and these kind of injuries usually take another year before the pitcher shakes the rust. So he won't be pitching for us again until 2013 when he's 31 without any idea what it does to his best quality - his stuff. Thought we found our closer. Big blow to our pen.

5-1 to move to 12-6. Pitching is solid. Tom Bell looking good as a SP and the bullpen is a definite asset as Melgoza has pitched well in the other half of the switch-up with Bell.

Line-up is looking more balanced a year later as some of the new guys come along. We're getting even run production up and down the order which is encouraging since this team is built on pitching.

We re-up Edgar Castillo on a bargain one-year extension at $7m and get a huge minor league contract addition bringing in Shannon Roberts as injury protection on the cheap. I drafted him a million years ago in Hartford, so nice to bring him "home".

Honea (2-0 0.81) and Bourne (2-0 1.25) are throwing well early in AAA and will stay there until I need a spark or injury replacement, giving us great SP depth.

Our future at SS, Roberto Jaime is looking solid with a .311/.439/.444 in AAA and plenty of room to grow into the power hitter my scout thinks he will be.

Things are bright in Vegas early on in the season.

This is still a young team with plenty of room to improve. After a shaky season and a half I think we may be leveling out with our younger guys contributing to our core SP and bullpen.

Roberts told me he was better than a minor league player. Then a day later he signs with you. That guy is dead to me!
