              Thanks Brad!

Well we kept our glass players free from injury while getting some new kids a look. Our only loss is a former Rule V player which was going to start the season in AAA anyway.

Probably going to start the season with 5 starters since we have 'Condor' as a swing man in the bullpen.

SP John Talley looks a bit better in spring training. Hopefully the growing pains are behind him. My scout has been giving up on sorts of bump ups.

Like what we see in 1B Pat Howell, but probably has to wait one more season since Jon Montalvo is blocking him. LF Ron Harward also gets some playing time in AAA along, SP Juenger, SP Farris, 2B Danny Cruz and a few others. There's a chance our AAA can actually compete with a few bottom feeder BLB clubs.

Our 3 headed monster bullpen (Franco, Lovera, Fejardo) look sharp and ready to go!

Overall, excited. Not expecting a repeat or anything, but should be good enough to compete for years to come.

Oh Tyler Kling...what a waste. That dude could've been great but injuries just devastated him.

We stayed injury free which makes cuts hard but we figured it out, I hope.

Willis Guardian was so damn good in spring training he won a rotation spot. Going to move Stolarik to the pen. He did okay in the rotation but with his success in the pen last year, I would prefer to maximize his ability.

Henry Rodriques appears ready to win a second Stout Slugger. 10 HR, 31 RBI in ST. Hoping he saved another 45 Homers for the season.

17-11 spring, no major injuries. We'll take it. Brendan Lindsey seems to be in midseason form. 24 IP over 6 starts, 1ER allowed, 26K | 7 BB.

Offensively no real standouts (OF Taylor Bell might quibble with that assessment), but that's not to say we struggled offensively. As a team we posted a .292 | .355 | .419 slash and 4.25 runs per game. The offesnse won't be as good this year with the loss of Gamboa (he added an element to the offense that we probably can't completely replace), but our OF offense should see a tick up with the addition of Gibson.

Still, just like most "successful" Freedom teams we'll be relying on pitching. A 3.01 team ERA for the spring gives us a decent feeling heading into the regular season.

                    Good luck to all!

18-10 in Spring Training, 4th best record in the BLB, but finished behind DVS (19-9) and Seattle (20-8).

My closer is still hurt from beating up his neighbor and my pinch-hitting/defensive specialist outfielder is rusty from being during almost all of ST. A few tough decisions lie ahead to get the roster to 25. Good luck to all with your decisions. This export is never easy.

                      Spring Training Standouts:

3B Ron Liverett - .288/.825 OPS - Probably hit well enough to displace veteran Victor Sandoval as the UTL/3B Defensive replacement on the roster. The former Top 50 Prospect is a free-swinger (1 BB, 14 K) but he can switch hit and is a far superior defender.

1B Edwin Morales - .296/.959 OPS - Only in 30 PA but man this AAAA-type is making it really hard to send him down. For the past few years he has been a Top 10 AAA Player but in the IL you rarely have space for a 1B only player looking for his chance. I might have to shuffle a few things around so he can fill the 1B/DH/PH role that Gabriele Clareno used to flourish in.

SP Dusty Cohen: 4 GS, 16 IP, 4 ER, 5 BB, 9 K, 2.25 ERA, 1.06 WHIP - He got a lot of help from the defense (.255 BABIP) but the defense should be a lot better in '11 than it was in '10. Cohen likely pitched well enough to win the #5 spot in the rotation.

                        It's the little things...

CF Dave Lessard hits a go ahead 2-run (ultimately game winning) pinch hit home run in the 16th inning of the final ST game.

It was his only ST at bat. SLG of 1.000. OPS of 5.000.

Signed Gamboa to DH/1B with Gleason. Unfortunately Danny Gomez finally decided to show up with a huge ST sim, so there's decisions to be made.

I think we could surprise this year, if we get any pitching at all. I have 2 1sts and 2 2nds this year for any top starters out there...

Tex Watts OPS'd 1.050. Gotta love when the 37 year old still plays like that even if is just Spring Training.

Also gave a chance to 2009 2nd round pick, Pat Morrow and he impressed enough to win a spot in the roster as a 4th or 5th outfielder. His bars says he's a AAAA type but I'm wondering if there is a little more there.
