Yeah, neither guy ever blinked. Evans came back to pitch again in Gm 7 in relief and ended up pitching 17 scoreless innings over 2 starts and one relief appearance. I wanted desperately to start him in game 7, but he was on fumes after the game 5 effort and I just didn't want to trot him out there on such short rest. Ayala got the call and just couldn't quite answer, though he held things together for a bit until the wheels finally came off in the 6th.

Evans is ready to take the next step forward, I think. With Lindsey and Evans at the front of the rotation for the next couple of seasons we should remain relevant, though I think this year will end up having been our best chance at a title. A great mix of youth (Garcia, Kidwell, Anguiano) and veterans (Gamboa, Goto, Roberts) really meshed for us this year. Some pretty significant changes to the roster will be necessary heading into next season, but the true core of the team will be intact.

    Congrats, Funclown. You deserve it.

Our team was a complete mix this season. Takes alot of luck and EVERYTHING went right for us. Now way we repeat this type of magic. (Even my AAA won a title) Were going to miss Tex Watts at SS, F Vega & Tony C were insane. Even Oshman became a stud in the playoffs!

My hunch is as the youth gets into they're prime we will have all these neat blue bar ratings and bizarre 8 game losing streaks and 9 month injuries.

Philly will be in it for years. Like the Ale however, you got a couple of teams that will make you work for it.
