4-3 week. Lost 2 of 3 to Hartford and won 3 of 4 against Dallas.

That series helped us clinch our second consecutive Pilsner title. Yay Denver BC! Or what the left field bleacher creatures call themselves: The Denver Big Chicks. It's got a nice ring to it. They wear low cut tee shirts and parade around when home runs are hit to right by our lefties. Because, much like life, these big chicks never get anything hit to them.

Jamie McPhenom (sorry, guys, but it's happening even if I'm the only one making it happen) hit 2 more home runs and now has his first 100 RBI season. With 119 runs, he is two away from tying the Denver franchise high. Hoping he gets to score 3 more runs this last sim.

Look at those numbers. 50 doubles. 11 triples. 26 home runs. 100 RBI. 119 Runs. 36 stolen bases. It's like he deserves another Stout Slugger or something.

We let Guardian take the mound as we get our rotation set for the first round of the playoffs. Guardian came over from Death Valley in the Melgoza trade. He's already on the 40-man so bringing him up didn't hurt anything for us. His option was already used.

Guardian gave up 6 runs in his first start. A bit rough though he only surrendered 4 before that dreaded 8th inning. He still struck out 11 batters. He won his second start by giving up just 2 runs to Dallas in 8 innings. 15 K's in 15 IP. 0.98 WHIP. Good debut for this guy. He will be part of the team in 2011.

And Erik Gill made his first start of his career. He threw a 2-run complete game against Hartford. Always nice to get good pitching performances out of nobodies.

We also let Zack Mueller get hit around just as a nice nod to the guy. He's not coming back but we appreciate his long tenure in Denver. Wanted to give him one last appearance at home.

    That's about it. Go BC!

I gave it to Brad. He moved heaven and earth in the offseason to finally break thru past Baltimore & Batavia.

Mike already had a good team, but I do love how is team is built. Gave Fsquid a vote also.

Willie Rosales has turned into a legit BLB threat. Also I think Travis Kemp has finally arrived.

Rosales looks real good. Got to love how he turned it up another level this season after coming into his own last year.

It's about time some of those young hitters developed into something for you.

Cali & New Orleans going toe to toe for the 1st overall pick in the draft.

Linty on the verge of back to back 1st picks. Not even the great tanker could pull this one off.

              Just joking Linty.

In all the years we were losing 100 games, I only had the number one pick once. 2000. The first full year we were bad. And that pick went to Davenport.

I think there's something to be proud of in those previous three sentences. Something.

There's a difference in being bad and fielding completely awful teams to secure the #1 pick.

Both players I picked #1 are on my roster now and the result of He Who Shall Not Be Named. He torpedoed that Hartford team with injuries for one entire season in the middle of my playoff build-up and gave me Pat Bryant. Then he got himself caught, we suspended 9 players and I got Coma.

This post would've been even more stellar if you used "harpooned Hartford" instead of "torpedoed Hartford".

I've gotten the #1 pick once. And injuries ruined him. Got the #3 pick once, same thing. Other than that all my picks when rebuilding were in the 6-12 range.
