Enjoyed this thread. Voted:
1st Brad - home grown talent and great big offseason acquisitions that paid off = Lindsey, Bermudez, Cook, Gamboa... and small in Savard, Anguiano, Lara, Roberts.
2nd Sully - traded away a cornerstone lefty pitcher for a huge return and stayed in the race with acquisitions afterwards. Carlos and Sully had an interesting dynamic this season trading away cornerstone pitchers from their teams for seemingly no reason (to me, not them) and then still winning. I think the fact they were both doing it, they actually helped each other stay in the race.
3rd funclown - more for his trades for guys like Nygaard, Mason, Cavazos, Vega who all played at (surprisingly) such a high level and his vets that played well the kids. The tanking is despicable, but this wasn't a team that won with tanking. Next year's and every year after is. No credit for Lovera, anyone could have given that kid money. We all knew he was good.
4th Mike - the reasons Z stated earlier in this thread. Some of his best players were Mwetts (it's true), but many of his this season were his acquisitions.
5th Squid - finally beat Jistic, now he needs to beat Pat. He's always had good players since he got here, this is the first time he's really done something with them. Next year with a move or two, he could make an even bigger jump.
Carlos' team took a step back IMO this season and Pat is Pat.Death Valley Scorpions (2003-Present)

I think Brad's moves made him the easy first choice. He went into the off season with a clear goal in mind and it freaking worked.
The thing with Brad that is probably forgotten at times because he's so active and a great likable person is he has tried this before and failed. Like a lot.
He has been in a little bit of hell trying to make a winner and not seeing results for a while now.
But something happened this off season. He made all the right trades and everyone played well. He deserves it.

You insult me by saying the previous (previous) owner is the guy you'd vote for.
Then you say I did an exceptional job.
Then you point out the fact that I was only on 35% of the ballots.
You got some kind of hard on for me bro?
I get it, the guy who hasn't been the GM since the END of 2007 is the reason why the millers have been successful. I just don't need you to keep telling me that I'm not good at fictional baseball sim, then tell me I am, then remind me that I'm not, man. To be honest I don't care whether or not you think I'm good at this game or not. I'm having fun, I enjoy most of the people in this league (even UMD because in the end hes a good guy and Hightower struck out 200 more batters than he walked) but I really don't need you shitting on me like that.
I felt slighted by your comment and I defended myself. There's been a few people who have agreed with me. Maybe some don't. You've made your points clear, I'm not the reason why they are good, even though I did an exceptional job, nobody voted for me.
I understand. Hopefully the grapes and fan-girls are on their way to bow to you. Now, please excuse me while I go and enjoy watching Byron Buxton and Miguel Sano play baseball on this Sunday afternoon in fort myers.

One last thing...
You inherited a very nice hand. Most new owners get a team in complete disarray, usually due to years of negligence by previous owners. Take a look at New Orleans to know what I'm talking about. Also, most new owners don't come in with a ton of experience with OOTP and usually get taken to the cleaners once or twice in trades. Neither of these are the case for you. The Millers were arguably the most talented franchise in the BLB when you took over the team. I have commented in this thread and in previous ones that you clearly understand the game and know what you are doing in trades. I'm not trying to discredit anything you've done. I'm actually quite impressed.
And as for mwetts; I know him personally. He had zero OOTP experience and once he took over the Millers, the BLB became his life. Unfortunately, real life got in the way and he had to step down after years of building the Millers into one of the best franchises in the BLB in talent depth.
I hope this clears up the confusion. I hope our feud hasn't made you lose any interest.Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-
