This season has been such a back and forth. We've had a ton of injuries and I feel like I've plugged holes to keep us in the wild card race all season.

        Some have worked:

        Edgar Castillo 12 HRs, 38 RBIs, .306/.372/.506
        Damian Dowling .301/.338/.397 20 R, 5 SBs
        Travis Neal 7 G 9.1 IP, 0.96 ERA/1.39 WHIP
        Pat Bryant 17 G 11.2 IP, 0.77 ERA/1.03 WHIP

        Some really haven't:

        BJ Mulcahy 11 HRs, 44 RBIs .189/.244/.399

        Some may or may not:

        Danny Melgoza 5 GS 2-0 4.44/1.25 ERA

It's going to be tough going down the stretch with Yamamoto out another week, Cash still down, and now Clarke out 6 months.

I hope we can hang on, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if we didn't make it...

Travis Anthony is going to be a special player for us. He might as well try and pull us down the stretch with Salcedo and Castillo.

We'll bring up some reinforcements in CF Alex Godinez and SP Dave Honea. We'll also run some AAAA type vets out in the last months hoping to steal a good performance here and there.

That was the biggest thing I took away from the standings. Looks like it will come down to the wire after all.

3-3 week: 1-2 @ DVS, 2-1 vs MOR - About what I expected. Rested some regulars. Came out healthy while still remaining the #1 seed.

IF Alex Otero had a set back, adding an additional week to his already 5-week hand injury. He will return later this week and will be given plenty of at bats. I need for him to get the rest off as I expect him to regain his leadoff spot in the lineup.

OF Pat Ladd continues his hot streak this week. I'm trying to keep him rested for the post season, so he only got three starts this week: 12 AB, 4 R, 6 H, 2B, 3B, 3 HR, 4 RBI, BB. In the 10-4 W vs. Morgantown, Ladd hit three home-runs! One off Khang and two off relievers. He is now back to his old self!

5-1 week. Swept Dallas (you're welcome, Z) and took 2 of 3 against Indy.
9 games up in the Pilsner.

August Batter of the Month, Henry Rodriguez, hit another 3 home runs and drove in 11 runs. After driving in 46 RBI in August, he already has 10 in September. I didn't think he could actually surpass his 2009, but he's on his way.

Rookie Dave Fountain hit .292 with 2 doubles and a triple filling in for the injured out fielders.

Denver stole 18 bases this sim and hit 9 home runs.

We signed Dave Doggett and had no choice but to throw him into the fire since the minor leagues are basically over and we needed to get him on the roster to qualify for the playoff roster. He did well, saving two games.

Real nice to see Nelson Herrera win DL Rookie of the Month for August.

This season has been a tough one for him. I still believe he is going to be very, very good.

4-2, nothing special. Magic# is down to single digits first week of September. We'll take it.

                    Go away!

The weather is getting cooler and my worst fears are coming true. Looking ahead at our upcoming schedule I don't feel confident at all. Need some players to step up big. Making a slight change in the rotation see if that helps.

                      More like charging hard!!!

Pawtucket 5-2. Strange week. Able to build a lead, but down on the series to Pitt so far? Needless to say next game is going to be huge as we only play each other 3 more times this season. Talley probably getting the start. Unless he's facing Maine the kid has really grown up in the 2nd half.

2B Infante back now. Really miss his bat & D. Most of our horses are back for the final push.

Don't look now but Davenport and Batavia are just four and five games back of Death Valley for the Wild Card #2 spot. We might actually have some excitement in the IL!

It's stupid that the 25 guys on your roster August 31st are the only ones who can be playoff eligible.

That changes once the playoffs starts. Don't pay attention to that screen right now. It's wrong.
