Pawtucket 4-2. Playing with a thin IF at the moment with both Infante and Watts now gone. Little known 5th rounder Katushi filled in nicely plus I.Morales really enjoys the lead spot. He's a fast EYE guy guess it makes sense.

On a negative note, we let Death Valley off the hook late in game 1 and good teams like that make you pay. Nice job Franco.

4-2. Lost 2 of 3 to Batavia including a sickening 2-0 loss with Schiefelbein on the mound. Then swept Baltimore.

Back to 5 games up in the Pilsner.

Henry Rodrigues continues his August rampage. He drove in 14 runs and hit 3 home runs.

But we are now without two of our biggest run scorers and run producers as Perkins will sit for two weeks and Verba essentially is out for the regular season - he should be back in time for the playoffs, assuming we hang on.

That hurts and puts our bats in some jeopardy but we do still have 7 other guys I'm confident in.

2-4 sim losing both series 1-2 @ Maine and vs. Pittsburgh. Not surprised but still disappointed.

Re-signed 3B/SS Antonio Cardenas to one-year at $15M, with a second year team option for $15M. He then responded by having his first "cold" week of the season. That's a good sign.

If I put Travis Anthony on a re-hab assignment, he'll be eligible for my playoff roster right?

                No clue.

I'd check the help file and OOTP forums if no one knows.

I think the player has to be on the disabled list or on your active roster on September 1st.

I would think, just to be safe, you could re-hab him for one week, and then call him to back to the BLB after this next sim. Next sim takes us to August 30th.

The Tallahassee Thunder are kind of good. 102-18 in the Bush League this year. But the roster looks like an over 30 rec league.

They are #1 in everything but stolen bases because they're all too old to run.

I can't IF Infante got a 1-2 week set back from a "fractured finger". What a pussy.

A good week. 4-2 against the Stout. Two games back of the Wild Card.

Troy Hanback has joined the Guides' bullpen. He'll wear longtime Guides' reliever River Ross's old #39.

Al Hamilton is a Guide once again, donning his familiar #40 jersey. Welcome back, big man.

The Guides have become such a thrown together scrap heap.

38-year-old Dusty Simmons was signed on June 22nd and he's your starting 2B. 33-year-old Koi-Sho Chai was signed to a minor league deal 7/28 and he played in four games this week. Hanback is 36 and hasn't pitched since 6/9. Hamilton is 39 and hasn't played all season.

                            I love it.

                              I'm really enjoying it too!

                              A few clarifying points:

                              — Hanback is our 11th bullpen arm. I wanted a middle reliever who could step in after Gonzales suffered his second major injury of the year. Too bad that signing didn't work out. He was amazing for the one month he was healthy. (11 innings, no runs, no walks, 4 hits, 11 strikeouts)

                              — Hamilton is a left-handed bench bat who will start at first or DH against certain right-handed starting pitchers. Barring an injury, I don't expect him to get significant run.

                              — Simmons has been a godsend, though he has multiple finger injuries since we signed him too months ago.

                              — Chai will return to AAA to make room for Volquez. Expect to see Chai back in Maine in September.
