Another nice week for the Brawlers taking 2 of 3 from both Pawtucket and Maine. Surprised we pulled that off but we'll take it.

Hate trading in the middle of a win streak, but for once the team didn't mind. 5-1 with the new guys and more previously injured reinforcements on the way. I think we fixed our offense problem with our in house youngsters and our acquired vets.

My rotation has really stepped up. Unfortunately, I think we waive goodbye to Troy Hanback this week. I expect to see him back in WAS at some point I'm sure.

4-2 week, taking both series 2-1 @ Syracuse and vs. Dallas. I was expecting a 3-3 week with the quality of the two opponents. Stout leading Death Valley finally lost a game (hooray) but still went 5-1, increasing the lead to 4 1/2 games.

Got bit by the injury bug five times this week! Luckily, injuries to Antonio Cardenas, Shane Ward, DJ Nelson, Alex Otero and Ian Fain were all day-to-day. Pretty fortunate in my eyes. I also feel comfortable with my depth behind those guys that I don't expect too much of a drop off. Most of the pressure falls on youngsters SS Manny Saens and OF Jamie Urmson who will get five starts this week each.

Got a few gems from the rotation this week: Travis DuFour: 8 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, BB, 5 K, Troy Martin: 8.1 IP, 5 H, ER, 2 BB, 4 K, Robby Duffy: 7 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, BB, 7 K. The rotation is starting to come along but still have a few tweaks needed in the bullpen.

I'd love to bring him back as a manager or pitching coach for nostalgic reasons but I think his BLB playing days are over. He's throwing batting practice out there. My infield defense isn't close to what would be needed to make Hanback productive. Plus, being over budget, I wouldn't be able to put in a waiver claim even if I wanted.

Your were just up against young prospects who are beginning to believe.

              Ok just kidding.

Pawtucket 4-2. After sweeping Windy City had sort of a let down series losing 2 of 3 to Davenport (We can never beat Shuh). , but then went on the road and swept Carolina. This team no longer fears road trips with all the switch hitting/ lefties we trout out.

For about a season 1/2 SP Felipe Vega ratings went up to a 7-7-4 and never could see it in his stats. Might be finally showing it right now. 7-0 thus far.

Still waiting for that wall, but future wise this team won't be going away anytime soon.

We're trying to keep pace! 2 series wins will certainly help our cause.

A.J Hightower has just been an animal for us this year, hopefully it continues!
                5-0 | 2.88 ERA |2nd in DL with 56 K - 5 BB | 12.4 K/9 | 11.2 K-BB.

Thrilled with what he's given us this season. Offensively, Schubert, Bafford, D'Orio continue to rake while some of the other guys are really beginning to come around.

Such a competitive division, every win counts!

Ask Z, this is how it is. Nice it's possible to get a 2nd wild card spot now. Think the Ale would of had a 3rd place team in twice last decade and who knows in the 90's. Denver and Dallas will have some input concerning the wildcard as well.

Don't get to hung up on us though. We're to young to hold this spot right now. We're just learning to fly.

I called up Tom Wright since I can guarantee him playing time. The injury to Pat Verba is too long and I already won two games of Russian Roulette with the gun Wright has to my head. I don't believe in being lucky three times in a row. Time for a youth injection.

We have the fourth-best offense, fourth-best rotation, best bullpen, and best defense, yet we're barely over .500. Something's gotta give.

No one came to play. My team is full of disappointment right now. My pitchers are better than my hitters. That's the problem.

4-2 week (1-2 vs NYK, swept NO). Brendan Lindsey finally lost a game (1-1 this week, now 6-1 on the season) and Jamie Crook finally allowed his first ER of the season. 5-3 start to May and we're hitting on most cylinders at the moment. We'll try to enjoy it while it lasts.
