We are a little dinged up. Excited to add CL Pat Knight to our bullpen on a great 1 year deal.

Pawtucket 14-10 preseason. Not overly impressive, but learned something about a few guys this preseason.

SP- Talley & C- Dave P. seem ready to go. Our new Intl relief pitcher 'Red' seems like a good signee. Tex Watts will draw alot of walks, will help out our predominately ground ball pitchers and bat .180.

Time to see what this rebuilt stadium does to our hitters and pitchers. It should really benefit power lefties. Fly ball pitchers might struggle some at our park, the rest will do ok.

As for our record. The March prediction really isn't that far off, but think this team continues to improve as the season wears on. Going to say 82-84 wins is our goal, higher if we don't get off to such a slow start.

Perkins jump starts this offense so losing him for three weeks is tough.

        Hopefully Eckstein handles it well.

Good luck to longtime Guide starting pitcher Tom Hau with his new club Syracuse.

Unfortunately, new Guide relief pitcher Angelo Gonzales's "Wrecked" label quickly bit me, knocking him out for three months with his first major injury since 2004.

The good news from Maine is that our club is otherwise healthy and we signed Frank Zamora to a two year deal at a salary I'm quite happy about.

Love that Zamora signing. Nice pick up.

In Philly, we lose RP Tom Downs for the season. Pretty big blow to the bullpen which was already a bit thin.

Thanks. We had offers in on him and Marshburn. I think we led for Marshburn in mid-March — until New York swooped in and got him with the second guaranteed year.

With Zamora, I figure if he can hit .344 in Philly and Toronto, he might hit .360 or better playing in my park, which strongly favors righty contact hitters.

Perhaps then he'll win the DL Stout Slugger over the tortured screams of Pat complaining about home park factors.

I assume he's going back to 1B or DH?

Zamora? Oh, fuck yes. He'll play first base for us. I never considered playing him at third.

                    He will lead off.

I'm wishful Tom Smith becomes him someday. Good pick up.

Ale will once again be a bitch.

2010 might be the best Ale from top to bottom since 1995 when every team won at least 88 games.

God, I remember winning 88 games that year and bemoaning that I still finished last in the division. That year was fucking madness.

Though the next year with three 95+ teams in the division was pretty crazy too.

Ah... the Nuclear age. I just remember waking up to see UMD making like 50 trades and had a brand new team.
