Funny looking at online leagues for OOTP 15 and every single league I've had interest has no rule V. Granted none of these leagues are historic, but my guess is it must of caused to much of a headache in other leagues as well?

Rule V Draft Question:
I know you have to leave an open spot on your 40 man in order to acquire a player. Are you allowed to put one of your own players on your Rule V Draft List and that would then move said player to the 40 man and be covered from being drafted?
For example, there are currently about 10+ players that I will have on my Rule V draft list. However, I imagine most of these, if not all, will be added to teams 40 man rosters before I get a chance to draft them...so when it comes to my pick, if none of my list is available, would I be allowed to put a Rule V Draft Eligible player onto my 40 man so he isn't drafted in Round 2 of the Rule V?Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-

That alone will force teams to forget rounding out their minor league roster with those guys, which forces more young players to be down there and play. And unless those guys get a chance in the BLB, they will opt to get a chance somewhere else (Microbrew Baseball League or something). So if you want to keep those minor league free agents, you need to promote them or trade them to someone that will.
As long as the max salary is low enough, it won't take away great players. But you make it less than the BLB minimum but more than a minor league contract and guys will consider it.Toronto Canadians - 2004-

To try and upgrade talent, not be able to, and then protect your player once the draft starts does not allow lesser teams a chance to build.
I know the "blind" draft due to not knowing who's protected complicates things. Your post makes me realize we need to fix this for next season. Even if it adds another sim we need the draft pool to be final.

Export in. Rule V draft list submitted.
I have no money to sign any free-agents so my excitement lies in the Rule V. Hopefully the few gems all get protected and we have no "gotcha!" moments. But it seems like there is always a few.
A lot of Free-Agent talent out there. I could see a lot of teams doing the "wait and see approach" and still landing top talent as the sims go on.
I wish there was a fast forward button.Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-
