I don't personally see anything wrong with it. If you decide you don't want the rights to a player in season, you're free to transact business as you see fit. Any buyout clauses get triggered, fyi, and are added to the current season player expenses.

No gentleman's rule at all. If a player is on a team option, feel free to cut him at any time to allow yourself room to negotiate with soon to be Free-Agents.

As for Tiscareno...considering what you gave up to get him, (granted, also Velasquez), I would have guessed he would already be re-signed. He's going to turn just 31 in November and as of today, I would argue he will be the #1 Free-Agent Hitter on the market. However, I'm sure he is asking for an expensive long-term deal and I can understand any hesitation to do so.

          Good luck.

The HTML reports around TJ Dunn reached comic levels again this week. Last SIM he got credit for breaking the record at 47, then another story this week for breaking the record at 48. Then he hits 49 . . . actually equaling his own record and nothing.

In all fairness, he plays in Toronto. No one remembers it happened.

You still have the #1 seed to compete for. You have a .628% at home, .526% on road. Windy City .630% home, .560% road.

Come on! Give it your best shot!

                I'm worried.

I believe Matt did something like this in either 2005 or 2007 and we still couldn't seal the deal. You guys are fine.

                    I do remember that...

I'm not so sure this year. I could see myself getting swept by DVS.

I swept Baltimore one year to keep them out. I think Baltimore would have liked the new clinch plan sim. We then ran off 12 in a row in the playoffs (with Brad simming).

We went 6-0 two weeks ago, then last week got creamed by DVS and ended up 3-4 for the week. Turned it around though and enter the postseason hot.

This week we sweep Philly and would have loved to help Baltimore knock out DC but since we hadn't clinched I couldn't make any changes prior to the sim. Long story short we score 3 in the 8th in Game 1, 6 in the 7th and 8th in Game 2, and 5 in the 7th and 8th of Game 3 to sweep Baltimore and send DC to the playoffs.

We end up with 102 wins, the most in franchise history, and now onto the playoffs. I'm not sure how it works but hopefully we don't play DVS since they owned us this year. We have 5 players "hot" but sadly two of them (Hardwick and Crespin) are both hurt and out of the playoffs.

Dunn has also tied his HR record of 49. With six games left, he looks to break the 50 mark!

It will be awesome if he breaks the RBI mark with a three-run bomb for his 50th of the year.

he's asking for more than my owner will give. He was labeled as a "Arbitration, possible FA" until about 2 months ago.
