3-3. We stay up 5 on Dallas winning 2 of 3 against them. But Syracuse beats up our lower half of the rotation winning 2 of 3.

Jamie McInturf joins the Top 20 as Verba slides off it. He only played a couple games, sitting against lefties.

September is here. Our Toros lost in the playoffs. So much for leading the league all year in the minors. No rings there in 2009.

Now to hold off Dallas for 30 more days.

We're almost halfway (5 wins) to last months total (11 wins). What a bad month. Huge series vs Baltimore this week.

We lost the first three games of a four-game series at Pittsburgh. We can tie them for the Ale lead by winning Monday's game.

Pawtucket 3-4. Took Pitt 2 of 3 then laid an egg against Cleveland going 1-3. Cleveland has caused us issues all season. Need to figure that out in 2010.

September roster expansion here. Been trickling prospects up all season now some bigger pieces are coming. Past 3 seasons the Ale expected us to lay down , but we have an oppty to least alter the exciting race happening. Should be fun.

Just realized we called (or going to) up 5 players this season. Guess I'm behind on our rookie debut articles. I'll just do a group one later this afternoon.

FYI- looks like we will pick 5-8 depending on the last month. 90% chance this pick gets traded. PM me and what we are looking for.

5-1 week outscoring our opponents 53-14! 3-0 vs. Seattle, 2-1 @ Death Valley. Now sitting four games back of Death Valley in the Stout and tied for 2nd place in the Wild Card with Carolina AND Baltimore, 2 GB of Davenport. This is going to be very, very exciting down the stretch.

SP Ian Fain finally put up a good showing in a Bats uniform: 8 IP, 1 ER, 6 K, however, it was the one game we lost, 1-2 @ DVS. I think he had a little bit of rust on him after being cut by Pittsburgh and sitting at home for over two months. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come because my rotation has been desperate for a consistent RH pitcher all season.

C Diego Flores has been a god send. While he is pretty much a defensive liability behind the plate and average on a good day at 1B, he has been my best hitter all season long since coming over from Windy City in Free-Agency. The 28-year-old switch hitter is now on pace for an .863 OPS, 39 doubles, 19 homeruns, 100 RBI and 96 runs. He also appears to be still improving as in the month of August was his first with more walks (22) than strikeouts (14).

I spent a boat load of money in Free-Agency to land SP Robby "Shameless" Aten. A quick look at his season numbers: 8-11, 4.19 ERA, 1.28 WHIP, for a guy making $20M this season seems very disappointing on the surface. But while I have given the rest of the rotation favorable matchups in terms of RH vs LH teams/ballparks, "Shameless" has been thrown out there every 5-6 days no matter who or where the Bats are playing. He hasn't been helped by the defense too much with a BABIP of .327 but his 4.3 WAR is by far the best on my team. This week, on the road in DVS, he pitched arguably his best game as a Bat: 8 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 6 K in a 3-1 win.

Voodoo Davila, who didn't crack the Top Players list until mid-season, now ranks #2. He is a badass.

How did this happen and why?

Designated LF Ethan Stuart for assignment.

edit: I think I figured it out. Stuart was on a Rehab Assignment and since the AAA season ended, he was forced into DFA so Syracuse can re-assign him to the BLB. At least the game was smart enough to not place him on waivers.

I hate him for doing well enough to keep McInturf off the All Star game. Both are on the list now but no denying Voodoo is the better backstop.

It's crazy to see the Top Players list dominated by youngsters.

                        McPherson, 25
                        Davila, 26
                        Bafford, 23
                        Rosema, 28
                        Perkins, 24

That's definitely not the norm in the BLB.

Yeah, I noticed how odd it is too. But again, we know who the old players that dominated the list were, mostly.

I often wonder how their performance impacted others when the game tries to keep things balanced during development.

I also think one of the reasons we are seeing weaker drafts is because we had too many good ones and now the game needs to balance the universe. My theory.

Speaking of Goto, notice how many catchers are in the Top 20 now.

Looks like the catcher is making a resurgence in our league. They died a bit after the years of Elliot, Kubota, Lumar and company.
