Same, not too worried though. Rather heat up in Sept.

A lot of teams were wondering why I was so desperate to create budget room. The reason, was SP Ian "Divine" Fain.

According to my scout and OSA, he has taken a bit of a ratings hit but this guy was the #1 prospect in all of baseball at one point. His stats the two years haven't been great but that's been pitching in the DL, in one of the most hitter friendly stadiums for an owner that wasn't the most active. I'm desperate for help in the rotation and I think Fain immediately becomes my #1 right hander.

We sign former Bat Troy Hanback to a minor league deal this week. He will debut this week as our #6 starter and should temporarily keep the spot warm for SP Tyler Clarke who's ready to make the jump this Sept.

I saw that he was released and sent him a minor league contract offer. He responded with saying that he's a BLB player and scoffed at the idea of playing as a minor leaguer. I was going to offer him a sub $1M deal but I really think he is done as a SP. Maybe you can prove me wrong.

I'm guessing my guys took "Pass Washington by" as lose five or six games this week.

I expect nothing from him really. He no longer has any velocity or plus pitches, but he does have a high GB%. I plan to start my best defensive IF behind him on days he starts. He may only get 2-3 starts. I have a full complement of guys ready to help the BLB squad Sept 1. We're not keeping them down for AAA playoffs like usual. Too many young guys and aged out vets ready to play up.

Pawtucket 4-2. More up and down which is expected.

Interesting fact: 8-6 versus Maine this year. Probably the infusion of lefty hitting who knows.

It will probably come down to how spurned he feels about being part of a salary dump trade.

He might be looking for revenge. Or maybe, he will tell us some DVS secrets.

New York's Single-A affiliate the Tallahassee Thunder are 96-19 with five games left. If they can win four of their last five games, they will finish with 100 wins in a 120 game season. They have not yet lost in August. The team has only seven players under the age of 27. SP Jimmy Tammaro is 21-0 with a 2.12 ERA in 24 starts.

Denver's Single-A affiliate the Little Rock Travelers are 92-23.

                        Impressive stuff fellas.

I was watching him all season on the FA list. Once Zamora was moved he seemed like a natural fit.

I refused to give him a boat load of money prior to free agency. Tried all year but he just wouldn't talk. Good pick up.
