Another 2-4. Geez. We are awful right now.

Growing pains. Just heading into the All Star Break. We had a lot going for us early in the season. This is the water leveling, I guess. Hopefully, we play somewhere in the middle the rest of the way.

In good news: I got Quinn to take a three-year deal and not mess up my future financial plans. Hopefully this also avoids him stealing any money during a decline. The player option is worth it. If he takes it, and isn't nearly as good of a player, it's just the one year. If he doesn't take it, then that means he's been amazing the two years prior and he can retire at 35 when no one wants to pay him $20 MM to be a DH.

Tom Hau had a great run. Looks like the "fragile" stamp finally caught up to him. Still, good career to this pt.

Ok Pawtucket 1-5. Yikes. Nothing to say other we slammed into a hot Dallas team. (Must of read my article).

          The positives:

1B- Tom Smith takes over the top spot in the DL batting average at .350. Always good to see 2nd rounders make it.

C/3B- Dave P (AAA) still batting over .400. Probably the only reason he isn't up yet is we keep pushing him at 3B where admiringly he's been sucking, however he took a bit of a bump there from what our said so maybe he figures it out?

SP- Jaylen Mitchel (A) has started 17 games now without allowing a homerun! Not going to see this kid probably til after 2012, but really has taken a big step this season.

Looks like we really need Allstar break to here.

Batavia's Travis Wyatt is having a great year...he's looking like that player he was in the 2004 season. Age 31? Maybe the light bulb went back on.

Yeah, he's had a good run for us.

Not sure what we'll do with him now.

The initial plan was to bring him back on a one or two year deal — which we had been negotiating all season — and decline Travis Fisher's $16 million team option for next year.

Perhaps we'll plan on retaining Fisher instead, or maybe we look elsewhere and have two slots to fill. We still have an excellent core of Hernandez, Neubauer, and Alvarez in our rotation.

This is a big week for us. Pat pulled even with his hitters, I've stayed ahead with my pitchers. I guess we'll see what's working better with a trip to WAS.

We're 3-3 vs SEA and 4-3 vs WAS. I wouldn't be surprised by a 3-3 week entering the break.

6-1; with the only loss coming on the road against Batavia when I was down to my mopup RP. I'll take it.

Bad news...Leading IL Refreshing New Brew candidate OF DJ Nelson's pending injury diagnosis came back as torn PCL and he will miss the next nine months. My OF is deep but his .892 OPS will definitely be missed.

He's been "hot" twice this season already, which is crazy. About time he earned some money. He also doesn't have to play against lefties.

5-2 and we weathered the storm through the heart of the DVS rotation going 3-1 against some of the best pitchers in the league. With Washington's help we picked up 2 games on Batavia, bringing us to just 6 back. I'm hoping we can ride this mini-wave of good performance to maybe 3 or 4 back by the All-Star break.

2005 IL ROY, Danny Martinez has really turned it on this year. After struggling the last couple of years, he's shown that the ROY award was no fluke hitting a shade under .380 and convincing us that he can be that everyday leadoff hitter that every team needs.

Tulun has been such a breath of fresh air. He has taken a lot of the stress off Ybarra by being available as a reliable set up man. We picked up former Bulldog star reliever, Franklin Martinez on a mid-season contract. We are under no illusions as we understand Franklin is no longer the dominant reliever he was in the late 90's and early 2000's, but his leadership, work ethic ,and intelligence was invaluable to our bullpen during that period. We are hoping that he can still provide those intangibles to a squad that needs desperately to be more consistent.

We still need one more reliever, though. Preferably a lefty and age doesn't matter as long as he's got the talent. PM me.

In non-Baltimore related news, California and Pawtucket's defenses has 98 double plays each so far this season. Interesting to see this considering they both are at the bottom of their respective divisions.

There has to be a lot of runners on for your team to lead the league in double plays.

Lots of runners on = lots of losses
