We went 6-0, going on the road to sweep both Syracuse and Denver, and took sole control of first place in the Ale.

We head into June now after a 23-5 May and prepare to finally have a bunch of home games.

We also re-signed former Guide catcher Robby Shumway to a $700K one-year contract. Our backup catcher Ron Willmore has only three hits in 31 at-bats this year, so he is gone. Shumway will get a few starts a week, allowing Davila to rest a couple games and play DH another. Lucca Memmoli has struggled to get in a groove and Davila will start getting some of Memmoli's at-bats versus southpaws.

We have a three-game home series against Pittsburgh to start June. Time to extend this division lead.

5-2 sim. 3-1 over CAL and 2-1vs BAT.

Lost Shumway to Maine with the same offer. Still was able to sign Fury to a cheap one year deal. He gives us another L to put in the OF who gets on base. He's also a nice insurance policy.

Still lightly shopping for a reserve catcher and a young CL. If you feel like moving one I will deal you a pick and/or prospect.

Overall a great month. Big set vs WAS coming up. Like to grab a bigger lead after our last split.

Man, so ready for the calendar flip. Absolutely zero traction in May. June should be a barometer for whether or not we can stay in this WC race.

Lost Cardenas for a month, messed up my rotation by doing the 7-day lineup...still went 5-1 including a sweep in Baltimore.

Pawtucket 3-4. -4 PTY record to start the season. Lol, got to be positive.

            The good :

            In 3 weeks we've gone from 3.1 runs a game to 3.6.

1B Tom Smith should hold long enough to join the top 5 in batting average once he gets the min at bats (.391 in 133 at bats)

Starting rotation overall has played well. 5th in the DL in runs allowed.

            The bad:

Still last in runs scored. I guess we just have to wait and see. The overall stats that drive runs are tending up.

Right now our catching position is like having a pitcher in our lineup.

Bullpen has struggled which might explain our PTY some. No one seems to want to settle on a role. Again, try to figure it out.

LEFTY rookie RF Israel Morales splits are defying all logic.

            Home 82 32 7 0 5 23 15 7 7 1 0 0 .390 .433 .659 OPS 1.092
            Road 75 11 2 0 5 8 8 9 15 0 0 0 .147 .238 .373 OPS .611

            Whatever!

            The farm:

C Dave Piekarski #2 & SP Johnny 'Beast of Burden' Talley #3 right now, both just won awards this month and both are hot. They are really making it tough to keep them down. I'll have to look ingame and see what my scout says about both later today.

Overall see some good trends, but sitting again at the #2 pick which judging by the past few draft classes is a very good thing though not intentional. Good news is more kids are coming, our finances are in order. I just don't see us having this winning % by years end.

              My bullpen sucks so badly.

Leger wins rookie of the month. Was a little apprehensive with only 257 minor league at bats behind him. He just seemed ready. All time collegiate HR hitter

Rosales wins player of the month(been waiting for him to blossom)

2-4. Took 2 of 3 from Pawtucket before Maine kept our offense in the parking lot.

Mediocre offensive week by our seasonal standards. Perkins did steal 4 bases and Verba had a good week (a rarity, it seems). Henry Rodrigues hit a solo shot but that was the only run he drove in all week.

Tamieke looks good in his start back from a week-long injury. But Melgoza and Hoffman were hit hard. Gaxiola struck out 9 and walked none in his victory.

Leo Garcia is looking more and more like a guy that's going to be released. No back-to-back magic from him. Bullpen was solid.

Next up two under .500 clubs in the Lager.

Down in the farm, our first round pick last year Ron Robertson just won his second consecutive POTM in AAA. He's 8-0 and has been great alongside Schiefelbein.

Man, we got manhandled by LA and split a four game series with Toronto. Still having some inconsistent play from the offense.
