    I saw earlier that half the league is in rebuild mode. Not true like the Clay days. Looking at the league more like a 3rd are at best.(3 in the DL/ 4 in the IL) Just from a quick look there many more in between teams then they're use to be.

    In the end, it's just big time prospect draft league. "Prospect" generally trumps "established Veteran" for most of the owners. Doesn't make anyone bad, just the DNA of our league.

      That comment was mine.

      I mean, it's at least true in our league, the DL.

      In the Ale, you and Cleveland are rebuilding. I don't know what Pittsburgh is doing yet. So that's at least half the division.

      Toronto and New Orleans are clearly rebuilding in the Lager. New York's on the fence to me — they finished below .500 and are in the bottom half of the league in payroll.

      And in the Pilsner, Indianapolis is rebuilding and Dallas just said they're rebuilding. Again, half the division, true for all three divisions in the league.

      That's half the league.

      In the IL, Morgantown, Seattle, California, and Philly are obviously in rebuilding mode. Baltimore says he's rebuilding. Death Valley and Washington say they're selling and retooling, if not fully rebuilding.

      That's half the IL too, depending on how you cut it.

      I stand by my assertion, though it's possible we have different definitions of rebuilding.

        I can promise you Spear is not. He never has any draft picks. Just cuz your record is bad doesn't auto mean rebuild. Cleveland has stated they are, but yet to show evidence of any rebuild. New York rarely ever rebuilds. Dallas...see Cleveland.

          I'm not really selling or rebuilding. I'm more maintaining. All my moves are lateral at the moment. More driven by future salary/budget than talent.

          Wences --->Boutin
          Reynolds ---> Bryan/Garza
          Fajardo ---> Bell

          Plus a 1st, 3rd, Cardenas, Banuelos, and $24m in budget room to play with.

          And my quest to trade multiple picks and prospects for a big name SP or a big bat at C/1B is continuing...

            To me rebuilding is restocking the farm, acquiring draft picks cost cutting or all the above with little or no BLB talent. My point is half or over half during the Virginia days simply gave up in hopes some decade his players would get old. Today a lot more owners don't mind staying at competitive levels and hope for a lucky bounce or two.

            Indy, Pawtucket and New Orleans are the only "official " rebuilding teams in the DL, but I can see 2 maybe joining at some pt.

                Hey I think I have a 1st round pick this year!

                But FC is right, I never completely hit the reset button and start rebuilding. We were active in Free Agency trying to add some pieces around Quinn, Dunn.

                  You had a plan with the one year deals, just didn't work out. Happens. Now. Last 3 seasons I can confess we might not have trying to win the Brewmaster so that can be called a rebuild. Or you can call it "pulling an Epstein "
