Decided to promote our top batting prospect and former Rice Owl star, Oscar Sanchez, in Hamilton's place. All he did was go 7/22 with 3 home runs, 9 RBI and a 1.133 OPS in his first week. It is sad that I was kind of secretly hoping that he didn't do too well so I could justify demoting him when Hamilton comes back next week.
Now, I have a big decision to make.

.822 OPS on road. About .570 lower than at home.
J.J. Caplan
Hector Feliciano
Agustin Perales
Roberto Goto
Kokoro Fujii
and the list goes on.
Hitting better at home is the rule, not the exception regardless of the park. Plus, his OPS would still be pretty high if our park was designed differently because he'd have a shitload more doubles. Our park makes a lot of extra base, gap hitters into singles hitters.
And if you think the bombs that he hits in Phillips Field aren't HR's in pretty much every other park, you are kidding yourselves.

Interestingly enough, we (me and the board) had this exact same conversation years ago the last time we had a transcendent hitter in Loren Wallace. Nobody ever looks at H/R splits until the hitter is in Baltimore.
Chiba's OPS+ is 193 (best in the BLB with a150 AB min) which considers park factors, right?
Explain that, haters.Last edited by Delandis; 09-12-2014, 09:35 AM.

I named six Top Players and you name one. he's the exception not the rule. And we both know he's doing considerably worse at home because you guys are having a down year. He's normally at about .830.
I'm still waiting for the threads that say pitches are only good because of the parks they play in.
Oh and I noticed how you conveniently ignored the OPS+ stat.
