We played seven games on the road at Pittsburgh and Cleveland. We won five of them and now sport a 16-4 record. I'm starting to think my team is very good.

B.J. Mulcahy had his second three-homer week of the season and now has seven home runs for the year.

Steve Suarez is on pace for a 13.7 WAR at this point. He's been awesome at the plate, on the bases, and in the field.

Also, my #5 starter leads the league in strikeouts.

We still stink but at least we can take 2 of 3 from the Clowns.

On the bright side, Fujiya Yamamoto, our last remaining star, is on an absolute tear lately after a slower start to the season, earning batter of the week honors. (AVAILABLE FOR TRADE, BTW.) Youngster Alex Armenta has been hitting well as has Victor Torres, and this team actually has some speed this year.

That said, we're still going to finish dead last in our division.

Swept @ Morgantown, then went 1-2 @ Seattle...4-2...I'll take it.

Well, the Duane Porter as a 39-year-old starting pitcher project is now over. He just doesn't have the stuff anymore it appears. He actually has been asking to be my closer since I signed him...and lucky for him, my closer, 36-year-old Jerry Evans, tore his labrum and will miss the next two months! It will be by committee, however...

Pat Ladd is the best player in baseball. Currently on pace for a 190+ OPS, 8.2 WAR, 45 HR, 117 RBI, 126 BB and 27 SB. Good thing his desire for winning is "very low", he might have an MVP-Alex Rodriguez playing for Texas-type year.

With the move of Duane Porter to the rotation, there is an open spot in the Bats rotation. Many teams out there know I've been working the phones...but we actually might just fill this in house. Time to give a call to one of those AAAA SPs in my minors!

              Same age. Same zip code.

But he's about three inches taller and 70 pounds heavier.

So after that disappointing 1-6 start, we've gone 11-1 and now just 2 back of Batavia.

Chiba is blossoming into the superstar that we needed and putting him behind patient veterans like Alvarez and Hamilton, he's going to pick up a LOT of RBI this year. Our pitching looked a bit more confident last week, although we did lose Uribe for a couple of weeks.

Looks like rookie, Ruedas will get his second start this season earlier than expected.

Tom Swanson picks up his 2nd PotW honor and is a serious candidate for PotM honors in a few days. He was pretty much the only bright spot in a 2-5 week as we fall back to .500 on the season.

The pitching staff got rocked this week from top to bottom.

Pawtucket 2-5 no now sit 3-11 on the road this season (.500 at home)

Yeah thats not gonna get it done. Our completely rebuilt bullpen is 4th, but since our starter suck we are generally down 6-0, before they take over. 4th in battings average, but we can't bring them in. Might get Ingle out of that cleanup spot since he seems confused right now due to poor hitting instructions from Windy City. We usually can get kids like this to straighten out.

In the minors: After 2 very "EH" seasons the light as seemed to come on for OF - Tommy Van Leer. Maybe having #5 prospect Dave Piekarski up with him in AA has helped who knows, but Tommy has been a top 15-25 players for awhile now and I never got it. Now he's hitting lights out and might be moved to AAA along with Dave come June.

Well things don't happen overnight so just need sometime here. Focus now on our 4 first rounders. Interesting to see who goes #1. I see 4 aces in this and right now having some struggled figuring out the number #2 pick which is sad since I've been looking at the same 20+ players for a over a season now.

Javy Sanchez is out five months with a concussion. Five months brings him back right before the playoffs start though.
