    - WATCH YOUR DFA's please! If you trade for someone make sure you have room on the 40 man or I will have to find someone to DFA.
    - Also if you want someone released then release them. I still go by the principle of trying to find room on your roster for DFA players as I do during the season.
    - Please double check all trades.

IMO we should have to add a buyout clause...at least 1/4 of each option year salary.

          I'm down. I typically give 10-20% buyouts.

Memmoli got a $550K buyout on his $5.5 million option year salary, with two years guaranteed. Not sure that contract belongs on the same list as a guy getting two $16.7 million option years with no buyout and only one guaranteed year.

I always try to do 10% buyout (and did so with Romero).

Furys contract even though technically one year is still 18.7 mil this season. Basically he's almost untradeable. If a team without any pitching to speak of wants to roll the dice I say let him do it.

Sounds like someone needs to propose a rule change!

EDIT: If that Brown contract is unfair, go ahead an edit it to include a 20% buyout to each option year, no worries. Same for Marlin and Koenemann.

As long as those garbage pre-arby deals are on the books, what is really the definition of unfair? I say just keep them. The payrolls have been unbalanced since the day we banned pre-arby deals but grandfathered all those other ones in for certain teams.

Pretty much how I feel. Once those deals clear the books, then make tweaks. Until then, it's a little unfair to the teams that don't have any pre-arby stars playing under ridiculously cheap contracts on their team.

                          Agreed.

The system is never going to be perfect. I fear the more we "tweak" it anyway the more screwed up its gonna get.

And with the signings of Kisselburg and Garcia, our scout doesn't think we have any weaknesses in the rotation. First time I've seen that in a decade.

Our only weaknesses are at 2B and SS and the bullpen with a slight weakness at catcher.

I'll take it. Let's go Spring Training.

We have a "slight weakness" at every position. Ooops, forgot about starting rotation. Thats just weak.

                              Good times.
