    - WATCH YOUR DFA's please! If you trade for someone make sure you have room on the 40 man or I will have to find someone to DFA.
    - Also if you want someone released then release them. I still go by the principle of trying to find room on your roster for DFA players as I do during the season.
    - Please double check all trades.

The Canadian dollar is doing well! Really happy with all our signings and we have bought ourselves a lot of pitching depth.

Quinn and Connolly will combine to give us a lot of power in the middle of the lineup and protect the upcoming TJ Dunn. We missed out on Pete Dunlap which is too bad but was able to pick up quite a few Rule V players that could stick with the team.

The biggest story was all the pitching signings. Our rotation will be highly competitive this spring...

    Tentatively looks like this:

SP - Maxence Claveau - returns home to Canada and will likely be our ace.
    SP - Jerry Howell
    SP - Donnie Sherman
    SP - Alex Martinez
    SP - Migdonio Manhos

    With opportunities for

    SP - AJ Hightower
    SP - Ron Malone
    SP - Jaime Ligenfelter
    SP - Tommy Vaccarella

Pawtucket lands 4 Rule V players and signs two pitchers to boost our well below average staff.

Still waiting to hear from two players and always can draw money from our vast PD if we want to make a splash or two.

Pawtucket farm ranked #5 at the moment. We expect the 08 reset to knock us down a few spots. Just our team DNA. No biggie.

Orlando Saucedo has joined Maine as an extra infielder, and . . .

          Lucca Memmoli returns to Maine!

The former Stout Slugger is a Guide again. Glad to have him back.

And damn, Toronto really opened up their Canadian wallets.

Pretty excited to grab veteran IF Jonathan Herrera on a short term deal early in FA. He replaces Pete Dunlap who spent last season with us. His ability to not strikeout in 50% of his ABs is a welcome change to our current lineup.

Dam, I was just looking for this kid. Love the guy. Would of made an offer had I know he was out there.

Toronto has a whole new ball club.

                    In the Rule V...

We lost 3B Tyler May, C Gil Rader, SP Ivan Rogaldo and MR Jimmy Abrams. I thought long and hard about protecting May, Rogaldo and Abrams, but wanted to participate in the Rule V draft and those three would have filled my 40-man. Hopefully they struggle and I can get them back, if not, I wish them the best of luck. In return I landed OF Jamie Beevers who will compete with Hector Rodriguez in Spring Training for the 5th OF spot. They will only start vs. LHSP at a corner OF spot. I also landed 34-year-old RP Ed Bausman. My scout still says 8-5-5, OSA 8-4-5, can hit 101 MPH on the gun. Despite pitching all of last year in Double-A, I think he can still be effective.

In Free-Agency, I struck out on all targets. Maxence Claveau, Antonio Trujillo, Jonathan Herrera and Orlando Saucedo. Also a number of my Free-Agent "back-up plans" signed this sim as well.

On the bright side, I guess I can dump that money back into scouting and player development...

The Toronto signings are pretty awesome.

I've always dreamed of having that many spots to fill and that much budget room to do exactly that....build a whole new team. I like that so many of them are on one-year deals. That basically gives his team the option to A.) compete this year and potentially re-sign the ones that do perform or B.) struggle and deal the players are rental types at the deadline and C.) spend again in Free-Agency next year.

I think more teams should adopt this strategy. Manhos for $900k? Damn. That's a bargain.

It helped that alot of demands were in fact "one year" deals. This is becoming more the norm now with this version.

Usually the elites (or those who think they are) want 15million for 4-5 year then the around 5 million or less they are more willing to accept smaller deals.

Either way I still think New York & LA are the cream of the division, but had to be fun being Spear this past sim.

Yeah, I like that one-year preference. You often see that IRL too. Veterans that are getting too old to commit too. Or free-agents hoping to prove themselves on a one-year deal to get that longer contract next time. You used to only be able to get guys on the one-year deal when they lowered their demands.

Still a lot of Free-Agent talent. Who gets Armando Ureste? Who gets Eron Deleon? Who gets Tara Tanaka?
