Yes the sim of the Rule 5. It would be nice though if everyone moves them now so I don't have to wade through multiple Rule 5 lists of players who are no longer eligible.

I thought we can move guys to the 40 man roster "in game" the day of rule V.

This of course won't stop people from missing an important player for Tuesdays sim.

Yes you can...and we do.

But I still have to go list by list of multiple players who were moved and then imported into my league file. The opposing coaches don't know who you are moving though.

Something I have noticed....

When you release a player, they refuse to re-sign with you for the year. If you decline an option, decline arbitration or just let a player walk without being re-signed, those players are willing to negotiate with you in Free-Agency.

How does this relate to Rule V? All these players I mentioned above, remain on your 40 man until they leave your franchise. In the past, I've chosen to get my 40 man ready during this sim by cutting players and then I couldn't negotiate with players I want on my team.

This year, I'm losing a lot of players to Free-Agency because their demands are so high right now. If they strikeout in Free-Agency and are still available in Spring Training, they often sign for a fraction of what they were asking from their previous club.

I know it's more work for you but I'm not paying Eron Deleon $20M...but I would pay him $5.

I'm with you. I was really selective this sim with whom I chose to release versus whom I'm keeping on my 40-man roster for now even though they're walking into free agency in one or two sims.

This is the first year I'm doing this. It bit me in the ass in the past with guys like Mal Brady and Jerry Davis.

I've just had guys ask for multi-year $10 per deals then the go without a contract offer for two sims and they sign in Free-Agency for $2.5M.

Right, exactly. I tried to only cut guys about whom I figured, "Eh, there's almost no chance I'm going to regret not being able to sign him in March."

Obviously we work around it and devised the sim plan to accommodate owners (even though it didn't work last year). Just figure the earlier the protecting the less likely the forgetting.

If they run out of DFA time, they are released. So I would believe it wouldn't make a difference.

I've seen you do it. Have to say been impressed. A few times you picked a guy up you had the previous season I assumed for half the cost. Many hate taking that risk.
