Was surprised no one wanted him, but he was hitting just above or below .300 for most of the year. The last month or so he went on an absolute tear though. Him and Ron Stone are what got us over .500 this year. (A nice finish by Roberto Ortega, who the team decided never to give run support in his starts, helped too!)

I have a few players in my minors that went undrafted...

What's more interesting...Is I saw a player who went undrafted out of High School...then went to college...then transferred to another college...shit what was his name...

Never seen anything like it. Played HS at Xavier. Went undrafted and joined the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Went undrafted and joined the Long Beach State 49ers.

I didn't think that was possible. The age matches up though. There are still a few players out there though with weird history's that need to be fixed.

We lose Hoffman, which is too bad because he had pitched very well this season and was scheduled to be my LC game pitcher (on purpose) or throw Game 1 vs whoever.

Tony Wences will start Game 1 vs Windy City. He's hot going 4-0 with a 0.78 ERA in his last 5 starts. I'm OK with this.

I didn't make too many tweaks this week, mostly because we have been playing so well.

I had 2 goals - win the Stout to avoid Batavia who massacred us 2 seasons ago and try and lock up the #2 for HFA against WC. One out of 2 ain't bad. To win the division after moving so much veteran talent is a good sign for us.

We won 97 this season which matches last season. In the 5 seasons since we banned most of the Colonials, we've had 48, 69, 113, 97, and 97 wins. Add in 2 out of 3 Stout titles and that's a good start to hopefully a prolonged run of making the playoffs in the IL. Now we just need to do something in the playoffs. I don't think we match-up very well with WC, but it is what it is and we'll hope maybe this is my lucky season to finally win something around here.

That was the one thing I was hoping for with the #2 seed. That would have required the Bats to go 6-0, however...

You had a great year. I should have ran away with the Stout this year and lead from the All-Star break on. Impressive year.

Ideally, I'm hoping to see you in the ILCS. The rivalry continues...

Just noticed, Enrique Ferreira (owner of one of the craziest scouting reports for an every day player I've seen in some time) set the league record for doubles in a single season at 66.

Even if I get swept, I'm really excited for this years playoffs. I need to put last year's Game 7 Brewmaster's loss behind me.
