Start promoting those players, only two weeks left in the season.

Fernando Hernandez should win DL Pale Ale.

-- Best ERA in the league by a good margin.
      -- 2nd best WHIP
-- Lowest OPS against in the DL
      -- Highest VORP
-- Top five in innings pitched
-- Tied for lowest hits allowed per nine innings

      Vote accordingly!

Pat Ladd was the best hitter in baseball this year...but he isn't going to win the award with only 111 games played and the numbers Morgantown's Hector Feliciano put up. Maybe deserves some consideration for 2nd, but more likely 3rd... depending on how much you devalue a player who missed almost 1/3 of the season.

Troy Hanback carried my rotation this year and deserves consideration for 2nd/3rd for Pale Ale Pitcher. First is going to Batavia's Danny Gonzalez. Hanback currently ranks 3rd in ERA, 4th in Wins, 2nd in IP, 1st in BB/9 and 3rd in WHIP. At 33-years-old he had the best season of his 11 year career, including current career highs in innings, ERA, wins, WHIP, ERA+, and with two more good starts, strikeouts...He has been the Bats MVP this year.

Armando Ureste also deserves some consideration for 3rd in the Last Call Relief but not 1st place, that rightly belongs to Windy City's Reynaldo Jimenez. Ureste is currently 5th in saves, 2nd in BB/9, 3rd in K/9 and 6th in Wins. A lot of candidates for this award so he will probably need a good final two weeks to finish in the Top Three.

Danny Romero in my opinion, would be the IL Refreshing New Brew if he had played the full season in the BLB. Because of a late call up, he will likely only end up with roughly 110 games played but don't hold that against him. Despite only playing in 94 games so far, he leads all rookies (IL or DL) in Wins Above Replacement. The leading New Brew candidates (in both leagues) are outfielders, a position where it's not hard to find production. Also, despite only 94 games, Romero leads the entire BLB in 2B fielding percentage, range factor, zone rating and defensive efficiency. He is currently hitting .284 with a .759 OPS. If those numbers qualified, he would lead all rookies in average and 2nd in IL OPS. Also during the three weeks that Ladd, McLouth and Cardenas have been out, Romero has been bumped to #2 in the lineup (McLouth's spot) and has hit .329 with a .879 OPS. It won't be easy for him to surpass Batavia's Hidetoshi Haraguchi who has played 147 games so far. He has eye popping batting stats for a rookie (he could end up with 100 runs, 20+ homeruns, 80 RBI, 90+ BB and a 2:1 BB:K ratio) but he struggled defensively rating as the worst qualifying RF in the IL. With numbers like that though, I don't care if you are the worst defender of all-time, dude mashed. Romero deserves 2nd.

Definitely need to wait until the season is over to pick the GM of the year...But a few names to consider: Andrew and how fast he has turned Hartford/Cleveland into a contender. In consecutive years since 2004 wins: 47, 70, 84, 96 (so far). This franchise has only topped 100 wins once ('97) and they have already tied for their 2nd highest win total in franchise history. A handful of trades the past two years and a lot of home grown drafted talent has lead the Buckeyes (still hate that name) to being the DL's best team and the franchises best chance ever to win a Brewmaster's.

Sully has guided Dallas to their first winning season since 2000. His appeal to voters will probably come down to whether the Snappers win the division or not. Either way, it's been a great year for Dallas after a few trades to make them competitive.

Delandis made a flurry of off-season moves and had very high expectations for the season. Then they lost their best hitter and biggest off-season acquisition to a season-ending injury. Losing a bat like Al Hamilton would cost most teams their season but with two weeks left, Delandis is still in the Wild Card hunt. Like Sully, if Delandis makes the playoffs, it will make the case much stronger than if they finish outside the post-season.

UMD wasn't supposed to be this good this year. They traded away a lot of solid pieces from their team and started the first two months of the season without their best hitter. Now with a solid division lead, Death Valley is headed to the playoffs for just the 2nd time in the post-steroid era.

I'd say this needs to be a lock. I also look at the competition in the ALE and see the defending Brew Cup champion and Pittsburgh still in its golden era. While I expected Cleveland to make its move this season its been an incredible season to take the division by its throat basically by mid August.

            2) LA Dino's- The Lager is weird with its one hit wonders, but made some nice moves to right the pitching issues and getting rid of some bad contracts. Helped for Lona to return to form.

            3) Death Valley- Not cuz he wasn't suppose to be "good" that was typical UMD nonsense, but more cuz how he not only pulled ahead late in the year, but the trades that positioned his team for the next 2-3 seasons.

            Honorable mentioned - Batavia

After trading those guys, I expected to win 85-88 games. That's never good enough to beat Pat. The guy wins the Stout every single year and seemingly makes the IL Champ every year.

I won 97 the year before and wasn't even close to a wildcard. Then I traded 3 of my best players. I didn't expect too much this season.

Cash back and adding Jones was huge.

Pat's whole team is injured down the stretch and he could still win the Stout last week.
