4-2. Oscar Gomez blew his first save of the season against Dallas, so we probably should have gone 5-1.

Gotta love playing Denver. Not only do we sweep, but in Game 1 of the series, Todd Taylor (my starting PITCHER) hit a 454-ft, 3 run blast in Rocky Top,followed by another 3 run blast by Chiba (1st baseman with power so that's acceptable).

5-1 sim but we'll be without Johnathon Morris for 5 days.

Maybe we'll get the owner a winning record and keep him happy, despite being about 12 million in the red this year?

Oh and 6. Sounds about right for how this team has been playing the last decade.

            Updates from Maine:

--We're shutting down Ignacio Alvarez for the rest of the season. He suffered a mild shoulder strain on August 17th, and our team trainer said it'd take him about two weeks to recover fully. Twinkle Toes is apparently good to go now, but after this 0-6 sim, we've slipped below .500 and our playoff hopes for this season are gone. Alvarez has thrown 148 innings this year. He hasn't even turned 22 yet. I'd rather let him just rest and give a couple young pitchers some reps.

--Tommy Bolinger will make his BLB debut this sim. We acquired him from Baltimore in 2005's Dave Sherrod trade. Bolinger has significantly exceeded expectations in his minor league performance. The 25 year old had a 3.19 ERA at AAA with 172 strikeouts and only 27 walks and 10 home runs in 175 innings. He even snuck onto the top 100 prospects list due to his performance! My scout isn't terribly high on him but he'll make starts for Maine in September.

--Jerry Brown enters what is likely his last month of action as a Maine Guide. Teams can expect to see him in free agency come November. There is a chance Fernando Hernandez will be in the same boat.

--I don't know what to make of Adan Neubauer yet. Splitting time between the rotation and bullpen, he's notched an insane 115 strikeouts in 87 innings. He's 27 years old, so he may be who he's going to be, but there's a chance he's more.

--Ignacio Zavala has given us three consecutive encouraging starts since Alvarez went down. We acquired the now-23-year-old from Death Valley in the Manhos trade two years ago, and he looks like he'll be a strong mid-rotation southpaw. He's had a shaky year and it would be great to see a few more strong starts in September.

--If Danny Lebron's Maine (and BLB) career end up this season, it would be a shame. But perhaps it's to be expected that so many injuries would take their toll. At least he had that outstanding championship season (when he was healthy).

--With Brown's contract off the books, Fernando Hernandez either gone or taking a pay cut, and bringing back Tristan Romarigues on a smaller contract after declining his team option, we will have a lot of money to spend, assuming our owner doesn't slash our budget after this season. We could reload very quickly.

Seems weird. It's almost as if my export wasn't imported. None of my changes are in the new file.

And thus ends the most successful month in Muckdogs history. If we would have only played this way at the end of this month we'd possibly be champions again.

                      25-3
                      .292/.365/.461 with 35 HR's
                      2.63 ERA, 1.07 WHIP

Montalbo is the BOTM with a .330 average and 11 HR's.
Gonzales is the POTM with a 5-0 record and .63 ERA.

                        thanks. Maybe I didn't export changes. I don't know.

Just seems off since the changes I made were the first moves I made. But it doesn't matter.

We're right in the middle of the division and WC race. Something that couldn't be said when June started and we were 10 games under .500.

Jerrod Dapson went 0 for 22 with 13 strikeouts, which seems almost impossible for a normally solid starting center fielder.

This is the first roster expansion in DVS where I'll have guys who can contribute something and be significant players for us down the stretch.

                              CL Tom Bell
                              SP Adrian Pulido
                              3B Alex Gomez
                              RF Dave Bryan
                              CF Tyler Roark

They're all coming up. They'll give us 2 more lefty arms, with Pulido stealing in some match-up starts and Bell getting some lefty specialist action with Aguilar. Gomez gives us some more pop, Bryan and Roark give us baserunning options and Bryan will pinch hit with his .380 AAA batting average.
