But why would the Cardinals even entertain calling him up?

The story sounds fishy. He hardly did anything impressive in 21 High A ball games. All of his amazing numbers came from low A in the year 2000.

I guess those three AAA games were the postseason and he hit .214. Bleh.

I turned my objective to "Win Now" and my guys thought it was for them. We then won 17 in a row. In reality we started to finally hit. Seven HRs in June, 15 in July...we've hit 27 this month. Also seems Jon Mont was pissed about the trade rumors as well.

Does that do anything in game or is it just for show? Does it change owner expectations, budget, etc?

yea and he played the playoffs for the PCL and back then if you won the PCL, you went to VEgas to play the winner of the International League. It was a disscussion because all of the minor managers were telling LaRussa, this the kid was the real deal.

I'm pretty sure it's for budget...or I thought it was. Owner is more lenient I think. Or do we have that turned off?

Interestingly(or uninterestingly), there is really only one divisional race right now. The rest of us are fighting for two playoffs spots.
